Thanks, both, found your vlogs very interesting and useful. We've just booked our first-ever cruise on Aurora to the fjords next September so it's all very relevant to us. And as a fellow South Walian now living in the north it was great to hear some South Walian humour!!
We went on Britannia when she was brand new and when she was 1 year old. Going on next May and for the 10th anniversary cruise. She’s a lovely ship. The lack midship stairs is a bit odd. I thought they would have opened it up by now like the Princess ships have. Go on Iona next, she’s got the whirlpools and the covered pool.
Shwmae! nice review. I think you have covered everything very well in the video, pretty much our experience of cruising with P and O too, generally quite positive and certainly very good value for money. We have sailed on a number of their ships over the years including Britannia, our last cruise in April this year was on their newest ship Arvia and we were impressed. Very well designed and laid out, including a full promenade deck restored I think they have learned from their mistakes with aspects of Britannia’s design. We are sailing once more on Britannia in August and no doubt will be headed (on quite a few occasions) to what is also our favourite watering hole too, the Crows Nest! Your channel is developing well, nice video’s always worth viewing, Diolch Yn Fawr Iawn!
Glad you had a nice cruise holiday. We have just come back from a holiday on Anthem of the seas. Entertainment and food wise was fantastic, even had We Will Rock You the west end show. We did go on another cruise last year with Royal Carribean and was also good on Voyager of the seas. Would deff recommend them as service was great, couldn't do enough for you, and you will have so much to do. Only thing you feel like you need to have another holiday as was so jam packed
Our very first 'cruise' was on the Brittania to Bruges a few years back. Had a wonderful time and thought the ship itself was more than adequate. Have a feeling that your next cruise will be on the Iona or Arvia.
Sounds like you had a good cruise, Britannia is a great ship, will be interested to see what you think of Arvia, Arvia and Iona are very different to the rest of the fleet! If you've enjoyed your P&O cruises, we'd definitely recommend giving Princess a try next!
Great review. We are lucky to live 20 min from Southampton so are very fortunate to have been on quite a few cruise lines over the past 18 years.. Have just come off Britannia and it was okay but we tried Arvia in April and it's big. Despite a few niggles quite enjoyed it. I would recommend Celebrity or Princess and a step up from P&O although more expensive. If you would like any more info just let me know. We are trying Fred Olson up to Tromso in March so will be a completely different experience.
I did my very first cruise with Fred. Olsen in May, visiting Eidfjord, Bergen, Flåm and Olden and absolutely loved it. I've got another couple of cruises booked with them (again to Norway) and can't wait.
Thanks. We are already looking forward to our next cruise and that will be in the autumn. We won't say where but there are a lot of sea days. We hope to try some mini cruises on other lines to get a taste next year.
You two are really fun to watch, I randomly discovered your vids recently, I was looking for walks in South Wales and Marcus popped up, I'm from Port Talbot so your local walks are all very useful and enjoyable. You and Mel are a comical duo, even if you don't try to be, keep the vids coming 😊
Hi Melissa Long time since we chatted , we’re happily settled in the North East , we too are off to the Ffjords on Saturday with Ambassador sailing from Tilbury ( great prices ) , just got back from 10 days on Amalfi coast ,temp had started on the up ( 36 degrees ) but bearable , did Capri , Naples and Amalfi Coast , then off to Tobago in January ! Hoping to finally get to Cardiff if family not away in early September , so if youre not off travelling , perhaps we could meet for coffee . Theres always a bed here if you want to review Northumberland/ North East , we’ve got Beamish , Alnwick Castle , Banburgh Holy Island Roman ruins etc !
Hi Mel here. It's been a long time since we chatted and I remember how much you love travel! I am very envious of you going to the Amalfi coast for sure. Let me know what Ambassador was like. If you are down our way, message me on FB and we can meet up for coffee. Thanks for your offer of a bed if we are up your way too its very appreciated
Greetings from Vancouver, Canada. We did a B2B in May 2022, out of Southampton on a Norwegian Fjords cruise (that you have already done) but our 2nd leg was a 12-day Scandinavia cruise onboard Celebrity Silhouette. We are very seasoned Celebrity cruisers and it is a lovely cruise line. A cruise to be considered.
Hi We went to fjords a few week’s earlier 10-17 June on Iona. We were so lucky with the weather had an absolutely lovely time in Norway. We really enjoyed Iona and would highly recommend.
We didn't change any money and just used cards. Norway and most Scandinavian countries don't use much cash. Just make sure you have a card with a zero currency exchange rate.
@@flydriveexplore brilliant thank you my partner and will look in to getting one as we only have debit cards. We are due to depart on the 16th Sept from Southampton.
Thank you for your honest comments. My hubby and I will be on the Britannia next year , we’re going to the Baltic. We haven’t been on this ship before...it’ll be our third cruise...you do get the cruising bug! 😁
Celebrity..all the way.. but save up!! CUnard - save up even more!! all in US$ hefty tips expected still areas of Cunard ships you can't access unless you are in the equivalent of first class ... perhaps try a very short trip with them from Southampton to Germany?
Great to see your now hooked on cruising, welcome to the club 😊 You should try Princess next. A step up from P&O and you can still sail from Southampton. Looking forward to your next trip on Arvia?
Hi from South Wales. We just booked this cruise for Sept, you seem to have paid alot less than I did.. who did you book with if you don't mind me asking?
Hi Mel here. We booked about 6 weeks to 2 months before the cruise for June. I booked direct with P and O. It was for 7 nights. We booked Britannia too which is a bit cheaper than Iona.
Hi, I’m going on Britannia to Norway in 2 weeks, what facebook groups do you recommend as I’m travelling solo and would like to meet people who are on the same cruise. Thanks guys xx
There is a P&O Britannia chat on FB, also search for P&O Britannia and your cruise number and you will often find a specific cruise group for your cruise
You may like Holland america as well as long as it is a newer ship. All their ships have pools with retractable roofs and central staircases. Not great main stage shows although we have seen good comedians but really great lounges with bb kings blues clubs and rolling stone lounges.
@@flydriveexplore yes the Iona is the ship that was designed for the fjords. It also does a few cruises to the Canaries and Belgium\Germany. The Iona always sails from Southampton so no fly cruises.

Thank you for posting an honest review. So refreshing to see a real review and not one sponsored by an influencer.
Glad it was helpful! (Although, if any company out there wants to give us thousands of pounds for a good review, we'll take the cash! 🤣)

Glad it was helpful. You're going have a good time and although the Aurora is one on the smaller ships, it's perfect for the first time, not too busy.
You two are hilarious, both fighting for the conversation,,,really enjoying your journeys,😂😂😂😂
Thanks, we wanted to keep it as we are. We do actually get on (well most of the time)!

We are going on one of the P&O big ships in the autumn. Should be an intersting cruise.

Hi both, we go in 2 weeks on the Britania, when did you go and what was the weather like? Thanks for the insight. Ta
We went in June and although the forecast was not good we only had one day of rain. It was actually quite warm in Norway. Have a good trip.
It’s great review and good for future👍👍Wishing you a wonderful weekend, greetings from Color&Shawn 🤗🤗
Thank you - We're having a very wet and windy weekend
I absolutely love the béarnaise sauce with the steak. Can't wait to have it next month!
Another vote for the Béarnaise 👍 Mel could be outnumbered?
