He talks about one of his patients who recently came to visit. Their family shared that the patient was being kept in a hot environment, away from the air conditioners in the home. When asked why, they said they heard that heat can help with easing the damaged nerves.
So, here’s what happens if the above suggestion or belief is applied to all stroke patients:
• They get dehydrated and weak
• They reduce their food intake due to excessively hot weather conditions
• They go in the opposite direction of recovery
He then says, this is simply not the case - patients should never be kept without air conditioners or appropriate weather conditions as it can deteriorate their health even further.
Nervous, Muscular, and Skeletal systems are involved in stroke and paralysis conditions. Treatments must always cover all three body systems in aiming for recovery. The neutral temperature of AC that suits all stroke patients is 27 degrees. People, who do not have an air conditioner, can use their fans and water coolers. Also, keep in mind that the room should neither be too hot nor too cold.
