    This awesome band regularly played in Tucson Arizona at the Tucson Garden, they had a huge following and i always wondered what happened to them, 30-35 years later I still think about them, they were really nice guys too. I am sure I have one of their flyers.

    Their engineer would play drums on Holy Diver. What a kick ass band!!

    Thanks so much for posting - awesome band - miss Dave Vanlanding (he was a friend from high school) he was one of a kind. This was a nice surprise to see come up on TH-cam. There are many songs I hear on the radio that I think of Mannekin covering them live instead of the original.

      I cant tell if your pissed at what i said or not... But almost every musician knows that things could be better. But sometimes they cant get over the hump and figure out what it is they need to do... Producers , engineers, good sound man... Most of them if they are at an elite level, they can do that its literally magic the things they know how to do or the knowledge they have to get bands to the top... Thats why when you hear a great band and you cant figure out why their album never sold or why they werent out there more.. Its those guys that do that... They decide on who gets this promotion and who gets the publicity..More so before the internet got so big but if you think im talking bad about these guys...Hell no and i bet each one of them has something they think would have made them better...@@garygrasser

      I was their original sound man and they sounded great when I mixed em….but I quit for Childs Play when they were just 15yrs old…saw the potential in those kids…so Scott my protege took over here and did play the drums too…he had allot to learn but got better…I on the other hand have been tour internationally for last 35 years and mixed for some of the biggest artists of all time in the biggest venues in the world…so be nice to the sound man!

      @@truemanmontfort8031 to be fair. Alot of the things im hearing could be the cheap video camera. The mic is probably having a hard time rec. at this volumne..

    Horrible guitar solo.....

      Kind of a “dick comment” Now go back to trying to play Wham on your keyboard.

      @@71lemansconvert82 Just for you I went back and listened again. The reason it's horrible (it really is) is because he was playing out of key and fast but sloppy. He suffers from the same problem a lot of guitarists back then did.....basically, having technical facility but lacking in the musical theory area. He played so far out of the key of the tune in some places that you couldn't even tell that it was still the same tune. Just was a mess and no phrasing whatsoever. Still a "dick comment" or do you think the solo was excellent? Since it was at a professional show, a critique isn't off base. The rest of the guys sounded good. Especially the singer. He did a good job. Guitarist...not so much.

    • @71lemansconvert82
      @71lemansconvert82 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Only be cause you came back to justify your statement, I have edited my original statement. If you were there back in “the day”, you’d know this guy is better than most guitar players playing the metal scene. To say it’s horrible is a bit over the top. Do I think it is fantastic? No. But it’s pretty damn good for a live performance and way to easy to critique because it is recorded. But I would guess if you were there it would’ve been a pretty sweet solo. Rock on.

      @@71lemansconvert82 I was a guitar snob back then. Lynch, Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore....and all the shrapnel guys.....I wouldn't have been impressed by this player at all. I would have had the same opinion as I do today. Lot's of fast, sloppy notes. He actually wouldn't have been special out where I was at (SF Bay area CA).

    • @jasondonovan1408
      @jasondonovan1408 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikeparsons8787 It doesn't take a genius to know he is limited in theory. Let's not even use that....let's just say note choice. Maybe he can record a decent solo? Not sure but this improvisation is out of key and he appears to not even notice. Throwing in arpeggios and notes that do not fit at all. Why defend him? It was simply not good.
