  • LDSGirlDoes Come Follow Me: Early morning study and reflection on The Book of Mormon. The Lord uses different methods to soften our hearts and make up teachable.
Name of the Week: King of Zion
Hymn of the Week: With Humble Heart
In the same vein of our New Testament challenge we're going to carry on with likening the scriptures to us, finding the passages that speak to us and creating statements that will help us incorporate those verses into our daily lives. We're also going to focus on Christ-like attributes. Each month focuses on a specific attribute of Christ such as hope, faith, charity, long-suffering. Each month that will be the focus of the scripture study to find those attributes of Christ in the scripture or how to develop them. On the weeks where there's not enough scripture study to make it possible to have enough meat each day to study we'll be supplementing in conference talks that have to do with the Christ-like attribute of the month. I have selected three talks per attribute but sometimes there will be more than 3 talks per month. I've left those to your choosing. You can choose a talk based on the Christ-like attribute of that month or whatever you're feeling you would like to supplement. If you'd like a free digital of the reading schedule I'm using feel free to email me at rnkpaperco@gmail.com
    🎉 General Conference Goals 🎉
During General Conference I like to set goals for the next 6 months. In the April Conference it was impressed upon me that I need to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, improve my prayers, to learn my covenants and to "live inside them." To achieve these goals I've set a plan that I believe Heavenly Father has guided me towards.
⭐First Goals: Is to study the names of Christ that I have found while doing my personal scripture study. Each Sunday I will randomly pick from a list I have created, study all I can about it, and pray that name back to Him. If it's "Deliverer", for example then I will call Jesus and Heavenly Father "My Deliverer" in my prayers and look for ways He/They are that to me each day.
⭐ Second Goal: Is to pray a hymn. One day while listening to hymns I was like "That's a prayer. I wish I could pray like that." So, I've gone through the hymnal and TH-cam subscriber suggestions and picked 24 hymns I would love to model my prayers after. I will be listening to these hymns, praying them and finding ways to incorporate their meanings into my prayer life.
⭐Third Goal: Is to go learn my covenants and "live inside them." In the most basic sense I know what the covenants I've made with Heavenly Father are but in Conference I felt the inspiration to really learn what they are and to incorporate those principles more deliberately in my life. I'll start on this one once I get a handle on the other two.
If you would like to join me in these goals I would be so honored! If you want the lists I've created you can email me and I can send you a digital copy. Thank you for joining me on my journey!

    Good morning and happy Saturday,
I had a rough night, last night, and went to bed super late. I woke up with neck and back pain. It took me a moment to pray, however when I did, I pushed through the discomfort and stretched and now feel pretty good. Being humble and teachable changes the whole game and I’m so thankful the Lord is patient with me.😊

@@ldsgirldoes3966 I’m happy to hear, it’s helping. Stretching is a life changer. Anytime I don’t stretch in the morning, I suffer throughout the day.

This verse shows Nephi praying to bring a famine to cause the people to become teachable Verse 4 O Lord, do not suffer that this people shall be destroyed by the sword; but O Lord, rather let there be a famine in the land, to stir them up in remembrance of the Lord their God, and perhaps they will repent and turn unto thee.❤😊❤

I picked verse 8 for my teachable verse. Because of the famine, the people pled to Nephi and asked him to pray on their behalf. So did the people really repent, if they didn’t go to God in prayer themselves? Maybe they did, it doesn’t say, however our trials can humble us and cause us to be teachable or we can chose not to allow the Lord to change our hearts in those circumstances and when life becomes good again, we are quick to forget Him.

I accidentally deleted your email about the Articles of Faith book. I saw it go from my junk and I tried to find it in the trash folder. Unfortunately it wasn't there for some reason! It's just been one of those weeks. ❤😊❤
