Just a heads up! Episode 49 has something in it that might trigger your Trypophobia. I don't think it should be too bad, but just a warning to prepare yourself.
Amethyst didn't have to cook anything because she was just eating the cheese flavoring packet. Which is why later in the episode Steven is eating "just macaroni and nothing". Also the neurodiverse nacho has finally arrived. Best character.
Shouldn't that be "neurodivergent", not "neurodiverse"? A single person can't be diverse, neuro- or otherwise, because diversity means variation within a _group_ -- but a single person can _diverge_ from the norm. But yeah she is the best character.

She discovered Garnets' dark secret rather quickly. Garnet ate another Gem to gain their power. She was going to eat Pearl and Amethyst too before she joined the Crystal Gems.
i can just imagine a little steven copying her doing something dangerous because he's a child and she learns not to do things that could hurt a human in front of him. remembers the safety videos they made in SUF,.....
There's actually a really cute animatic I saw once where a toddler Steven, not knowing Garnet is heat-resistant, is worried about her taking things out the oven without mittens. Pearl tries to explain it to Steven, but Garnet just puts the mittens on

I can't be the only one who got really angry at Pearl this episode, right? The way she kept dismissing Steven and insisting she couldn't be wrong is one thing, but her attitude when they checked the space warp pad was uncalled for. And she didn't even apologize.
She was terrified. She did that thing that people do, where they act like they can argue something out of existence. Which is very very human and understandable, but never okay, especially with kids.
i remember disliking pearl as a child and getting especially annoyed at these types of scenes but now i just really appreciate showing the depth of her character. she's seen as this responsible, motherly role model all the time for steven but that's not all she is; she's flawed. she messes up sometimes, raising a child she never wanted or knew how to raise.
Peridot has an interesting character arc. She's actually a member of a religious group that pops around the universe asking gems if they've accepted Jade as their savior. It is why the group is so terrified of her. If you see one of them, others will follow. And they might even leave flyers.
peridot is actually one of the highest ranking gems due to her shape language, gem culture is founded upon worship of basic geographical forms, which also explains Garnet's strength due to her square-ness, this all leads up to the moment we meet the leader of all the gems, who is one large orb
I always thought that the underlying "vibes" of Warp Tour were kind of reminiscent of when you're a kid, and your family is getting along, everything's going well. But something's wrong and you need to say something, but it feels like you're ruining the peace, a peace which may or may not be very common depending on how functional your family is. Idk, it just gave off that energy of guilty, yet indignant, anxiety.
Finally, the introduction of everyone's favorite angry green Dorito! I've always loved the way her hands worked. The title "Warp Tour" is a reference to the famous Warped Tour, a traveling rock tour that toured the United States and Canada every summer from 1995 until 2019, and planned to start again in 2025. It was the largest traveling music festival in the United States and the longest-running touring music festival to date in North America.
The reason Peridot is here is indeed because she knows Lapis. They were a couple who grew apart since Lapis disappeared and now Peridot has come to Earth to know who took her love
People never talk about the part where Amethyst and her identical twin almost get kidnapped and taken to the moon because she was trying to show off to Steven on their first solo mission together.
If a fusion is really big it requires a catalyst. Alexandrite was at the verge of falling apart constantly, because of how many people she was comprised of. A fusion of even more people than alexandrite requires a catalyst, and that catalyst is the temple.
Also, how many times do we have to say…Garnet is more powerful because her gems are in her hands . This allows her to be excellent at arm wrestling… which as we know is highly important to gem culture.
That actually might be something: garnet is strength, so maybe having gems in her hands is symbolic? Now I wanna look at where everyone else’s gems are
Oh... you rascal... I hope deeply that the importance of this is not lost on certain people. As we well know, Arm Wrestle IS indeed highly important to Gem Culture. I would say however that garnets strength doesn't come because she is "good at arm wrestling" per say. BUT it is important to remember that real reason why her gems are different... The answer of course.... IS BASEBALL!!!!
@@chefcircuit5392 Makes sense, Peridot has her gem in her head also, she is Brainy like Pearl. Lapis has her gem on her back, where her wings are, which are kinda the source of her power.

Peridot is a beautiful, vibrant green gemstone that belongs to the mineral family of olivine. The chemical formula for peridot is (Mg, Fe)2SiO4, indicating that it is primarily composed of magnesium, iron, and silicate. Peridot has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. This makes it relatively durable and suitable for use in various types of jewelry, though it is not as hard as some other gemstones like diamonds or sapphires. Because of its hardness, peridot can be scratched by harder substances, so it’s important to take care of peridot jewelry to prevent damage. High-Pressure Formation: Peridot forms under high temperatures and pressures deep within the Earth's mantle. It is brought to the surface through volcanic activity, particularly by lava flows known as basalt. Lava Bombs and Xenoliths: Sometimes, peridot is found in volcanic rocks as lava bombs or in mantle xenoliths, pieces of the mantle that are carried to the surface by magma. Meteorites: Peridot has also been found in meteorites, specifically in pallasite meteorites, which are a rare type of stony-iron meteorite. These meteorites contain olivine crystals, some of which are gem-quality peridot.
I think the first time I watched this episode I saw The Test as a really sweet ending but now I think it's sad that Steven had to sweep his own feelings aside for their sake :( Kid should be allowed to process his feelings for sure
The more I watch your videos, the more I think you did a good job helping raise the twins. Just the way you sound like a very caring big sis who took on what would arguably be a lot for another kid but you learned on the job. Also, your reaction to trying to figure out what kind of gem Peridot was, excellence. Your face of ‘someone who got no answers’ is probably how I looked when my sister got me into the show (she started with me with the Space Race episode, so I was just confused for a bit).
Nobody tell our Wee Lass abouot Garnet's secret - that she's a rare kind of Gem born with two stones, making her twice as powerful and one of the natural-born leaders of their kind (though she's very humble about it).
NOW you start to get to some of the interesting little payoffs. Remember way back in the sea spire episode, at the end when they were in the water, they said 2 of Steven's 4 ideas worked, and Amethyst jokingly said 'that's at least 50%'? That's because it was always a test, and that was always the intention behind the writing in that episode. Hence all the moments they let Steven take the reigns on what to do next, because they were specifically doing this FOR HIM. Also, Steven did lose his healing powers. He healed his dad, but thought it didn't work because Greg was lying to spend time with him, that caused him to lose confidence, and as a result, his healing powers stopped working and he couldn't heal the geode. That's what they were saying: Steven lost his confidence, and that caused him to lose his powers, they can't afford to let that happen again, so they rigged up this whole test PURELY to give him a 'win' to try and help him along.
Peridot is absolutely one of my favorite, if not most favorite, character in this show. Her voice actor does incredible, and she has sooo many funny scenes, she is hilarious. Oh and your quest for answers will go all the way to the end, seriously. No quarter for lore hunters in this show. It's mysteries the entire time and people who watched as it was still airing were suffering like crazy. Absolutely on purpose they planned the show in advance for the entire 5 seasons to maximize the mysteries.
The Test is so good. Its subtle, but you can really mark a change in Steven and his relationship to the gems feom this moment. He realizes they're not perfect. Dont know everything, and so he starts taking initiative in a new way. We dont learn any crazy lore, but its still a pivotal turning point in the show. Also Everdale is a fun one!
Finally! Warp Tour! The episode I've been waiting for her to react to... alongside Mirror Gem, Alone Together and the final 3 or so episodes of the season.
Mod] Hey everyone! Remember to keep the comments free of any spoilers of future episodes for Mosco. Have fun & be creative with fake spoilers! Also, make sure we’re keeping the comments cool & comfortable for everyone here. Enjoy the reaction y’all!!!
The Test becomes ones of the saddest episodes in retrospect, and I wish that were a fake spoiler. Anyway, I can't wait until the Gems find out Peridot is just an intergalactic toothpaste spokesperson, explaining why her little goobers kept trying to freshen Steven's breath with toothpaste. The whole situation winds up being a huge misunderstanding, which makes Garnet's reaction at the end of that episode very funny.
Two great episodes! I love seeing Steven's maturity at the end of The Test. That's big growth! I dont think Steven of earlier in the season would have done that. I also really love that both of these episodes highlight the fact that the gems are not the best parental figures/mentors but they care a lot and are always trying their best even when they're not perfect. Raising a human is totally new for them! It's something they're still learning to do everyday.
The Test was my first episode of SU, I just caught it on TV by chance and was curious. Had me crying at the end without me even knowing who they were, just that Steven and the gems were all incredibly caring of each other. It's still one of my favorite episodes of the series.
also wow, mosco almost guessing the fact that garnet fused with tanzanite's poofed gem after tanzanite went rogue and garnet had to poof her. garnet taking tanzanite's gem and absorbing her power but giving her no consciousness or control over the fusion... dark stuff, man.
Higher ranking gems do you have more crystals on their body. The gem God is a massive geode of crystals. when it’s crystals break off they emerge from her as fully formed gems.
Garnets secrets are starting to unravevel your seeing how she has devoured the soul of another gem and soon she will reveal a secret to you but i can't wait till you find out how she was going to devour the other gems, it was a bit dark for a childrens show can't remember how they got around the censorship but it was amazing
The gems aren't mammals, learning to be parents is a massive part of each character's arc and the growing pains they all feel with each other is part of why I love this show. Also the day warp tour originally aired, the crewniverse made homegirl a Twitter account xD
Some say that Warp Tour is the real episode one of the Steven Universe series. A Gem hierarchy? You're treading close to the Gem-Who-Cannot-Be-Named: Concrete! The Test was such a great character-driven episode, showcasing Steven's development and how he's matured from earlier in the series. He could have told off GAP for their shenanigans and lack of faith, but when Steven evesdropped he realized that his passing the test successfully was even more important to them than it was to him. He went along with the charade to boost their confidence, demonstrating how he's now looking after the well-being of the team rather than himself; that's he's slowly becoming the true heir of Rose Quartz.
The lime green space Dorito is here! And imagine how much people were yelling for answers and theorizing stuff while the show was originally airing. At least you have the entire show in front of you, we had to wait. So, so much waiting.
Damn, these two episodes back to back are crazy. One with huge implications for the future, one that that has huge implications in hindsight. ....considering we all know that Peridot removing Steven's sticker releases a demon who sets off the apocalypse, and the gems reconfiguring the temple for Steven is foreshadowing for the fact that they're living in the matrix.
Such a leap on maturity for Steven and I think quite relatable for older kids and grown ups… realizing that your carers (and adults in general) aren’t infallible and they don’t always know what they’re doing. Steven’s started to realize and here he decided to take care of them for a change. He’s still a kid though, so this is quite bitter-sweet.

Love it when Steven stands up to Pearl. That was needed. Poor Steven.
10:25: Meet Peridot.
Mod] Hey everyone! Remember to keep the comments free of any spoilers of future episodes for Mosco. Have fun & be creative with fake spoilers! Also, make sure we’re keeping the comments cool & comfortable for everyone here. Enjoy the reaction y’all!!!
The Steven Universe experience: one surprise episode of lore and then a season of no question answered
The whole situation winds up being a huge misunderstanding, which makes Garnet's reaction at the end of that episode very funny.
i love all these joking comments about peridot being the best character when she never appears again after this episode lmao
Mosco finally got to see Greg's alternate form, PeriDorito.
She’s not ready to find out how Peridot and Kevin are in cahoots to take otver the world
Don't forget Ronaldo
The Test was my first episode of SU, I just caught it on TV by chance and was curious. Had me crying at the end without me even knowing who they were, just that Steven and the gems were all incredibly caring of each other. It's still one of my favorite episodes of the series.
I can't wait for when they get to the great pumpkin war. I know itll take awhile but it was definitely one of my favorite episodes
I swore I wouldn’t choose a favorite gem until we were introduced to Peridot, love our alien of aliens.
also wow, mosco almost guessing the fact that garnet fused with tanzanite's poofed gem after tanzanite went rogue and garnet had to poof her. garnet taking tanzanite's gem and absorbing her power but giving her no consciousness or control over the fusion... dark stuff, man.
The test is, perhaps, the most important episode for Steven.
Lapis 🤝 Peridot
MVPS
For real
We do NOT speak about THAT shipwar in SU fandom. Poor form!
Higher ranking gems do you have more crystals on their body. The gem God is a massive geode of crystals. when it’s crystals break off they emerge from her as fully formed gems.
YESS PERIDORITOSSSSSS!!! SHE FINALLY MADE HER FIRST APPEARANCE
Garnets secrets are starting to unravevel your seeing how she has devoured the soul of another gem and soon she will reveal a secret to you but i can't wait till you find out how she was going to devour the other gems, it was a bit dark for a childrens show can't remember how they got around the censorship but it was amazing
Can't believe the foreshadowing here that Steven will trigger Third Impact.
The gems aren't mammals, learning to be parents is a massive part of each character's arc and the growing pains they all feel with each other is part of why I love this show.
Also the day warp tour originally aired, the crewniverse made homegirl a Twitter account xD
Your tangents are TOTALLY Ronoldo-esk 😂😂
Random person: "You can't be Lawful and a Gremlin."
Me: "Counterargument" _*Presents Peridot_
Lawful Gremlin is her official alignment.
Steven will accidentally fuse with Peridot and become Unakite when she comes back through a secret Warp Pad!
Who knew that WL would find "The Test" more illuminative than "Warp Tour" 😅
How the hell did they justify airing Jailbreak this early!?!? There's so many things you need to know before then!
You should ask Lapis if she knows peridot the next time you see her
Such a leap on maturity for Steven and I think quite relatable for older kids and grown ups… realizing that your carers (and adults in general) aren’t infallible and they don’t always know what they’re doing. Steven’s started to realize and here he decided to take care of them for a change. He’s still a kid though, so this is quite bitter-sweet.
PERIDOT MY DAUGHTER !!! MY CHILD !!! MY CLOD !!!
