  • In this rare footage from 1987, Jürgens delivers a powerful performance of “Ich weiß, was ich will” (I Know What I Want) during a televised concert in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The song, originally released in 1981, became an anthem of self-determination and resilience, resonating deeply with audiences across the German-speaking world.
Accompanying him on stage is Sonja Kimmons, an accomplished vocalist who collaborated with Jürgens on multiple projects. That same year, the two artists released the duet “Ich will - ich kann, I Can - I Will” (1987), further cementing their musical partnership. In 1991, Kimmons, Jürgens, and Yvonne Moore teamed up again for the song “Wings of Love”, showcasing their shared passion for emotive, powerful performances.
Jürgens, one of the most successful German-speaking musicians of all time, was known for his extraordinary stage presence, poetic lyrics, and orchestral compositions. With a career spanning over five decades, he left an indelible mark on European music, selling over 100 million records worldwide.
Udo Jürgens passed away suddenly in December 2014, leaving behind a remarkable musical legacy that continues to inspire generations.

I really love the way this starts with the violin-it fits the song so well. There aren’t many recordings of Udo Jürgens performing the whole song like this, as he usually mixed it into medleys. Even here, he blends it with another song at the end, which makes this version pretty special.
This is kind of an original version. In later times, he changed the arrangement, which did not do best for the song.
