    I've just found your channel, I'm British and I got to say, you guys are my kind of Americans, quiet, well spoken, respectful history buffs. Currently on a marathon of your videos, they are excellent and very well put together and edited.

    That’s cool, my ancestor gave Matt’s ancestor the land! Robert the Bruce is my 22nd great grandfather! It’s nice he got to visit his ancestral home and learn all about his ancestors, he must have been buzzing!

      Believe it or not, according to my family history, I am related to the Monroe clan. They ruled the highlands of Scotland. In that time period, if people wanted to come into the highlands, you had to pay my clan a toll

    Eh just because thats his name doesnt mean his family owned the castle. Peoole who lived in the same area as the lords used to also call there second name as the person who owned the castle because it gave them protection. So kinda like how theres crips back then in scotland there was boyds. Americans are so annoying when they come to Scotland and look for there family name and think there great grandpa owned a castle. Theres thousands of boyds in scotland they wont all be blood related though

    Yes wee man! Not cool to lose your head! Mr Boyd is that your army to take the castle back? After all your uncle shouldn’t have been beheaded. All charges against him were fraudulent. People were nasty and would go to extraordinary lengths to acquire peoples land and property. My grandma lived there for 20 years. I loved sitting on the big horse with all its battle ready shinny armor. I don’t see that horse in your video?

  • @beinnnabhfadhla6457
    @beinnnabhfadhla6457 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dean Park Country Park used to be the home of the Boyd's of Kilmarnock. The Boyd's were the only lowland clan to fight in the Jacobite side at Culloden (1746) and as a result, General Robert Boyd (a member of Prince Charles's Privy Council) was beheaded in London in 1746 sealing the fate of the Boyd clan, like so many in Scotland after that battle vs the Redcoats. The victors always take the spoils and write the history (PS: this is my home county).

    I am in awe of the sense of history that is all encompassing in every part of the U.K. which you have visited! The UKers..( I don't want to offend anyone by calling them British, as I've heard many of them do not appreciate that term)..seem to walk by a 12th century castle with a nonchalance we in the U.S. give a McDonald's. In my part of the U.S., a surviving building from 1855 is on the National Register of Historic Places simply for being that age!! I so want to visit the U.K.

    Wow. Interesting.. Does your friend know that he is a Moor?(lol) Therefore, he is of Hebrew decent. That castle was built by my ancestors that were known as Vikings, Pirates, Sea Peoples, and Moorish Navy. We controlled all trade by see in the Atlantic. We migrated to Jamaica and the Bahamas, Jamaica, and the Virgin Islands. There were 2 branches of the Dean Family. The warriors who resided in both Ireland and Scotland before we were ordered to transfer to the Carribean. The other branch were politicians that remained in Britain. Most people would say that we are black even though black is not a race but a legal classification, however we are Hebrew. My blood is the blood that gave birth to Europe during Moorish conquest. I'm about as pure Hebrew as you will find outside of Ethiopia. If anything, that castle belongs to the eldest member of my family. Being that the branch of my family were the warriors. The branch that remained in Europe had become largely white over a few generations there is actually a strong possibility that your friend is truly my cousin. If he is interested in learning about what I know about the history of the Deans I can trace our history all the way back to England. He is more than welcome to contact me. I'm far from racist (which makes less sense the more you know about history), and I'm damn cool. I imagine the Hebrew portion of the story should be interesting to him. Plus, I'd like the opportunity to examine his branch to get a wider and more solidified view of history. (Feel free to tease your friend about being a negro). (Keep him away from your girl.. he's probably packing)

    • @Phire_of_Yasharel
      @Phire_of_Yasharel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say that this is very important. History is actively being altered. If he has any interest in discovering and preserving the history of how he came to be.. here is his shot. I'm quite knowable, and I'm pretty good at hunting down hidden history and providing evidence to support it. Feel free to contact me (whoever) if you are interested in investigating any part of history.. including tracing your origin.

    Look up my family while you are there LOL My grandfather traced our family tree to the First Louthan's that immigrated to the US in the 17th century. He could not trace it any further since at that time (the 1950's) you had to travel to the country to further research. Sadly, I am the last Louthan in this branch of the tree My Great Grandfather, Grandfather, my Father and then I were a single male offspring. My ex-wife and I have young adult girls. I will not be leaving any children to carry on the Louthan name. Of course, I would love to look further back into our history by visiting Scotland. A life bucket I do not think will ever happen.
