    Hey all, I'm actually Devin in this video. Just wanted to clarify something that I screwed up when sending the hand history to SplitSuit....The UTG min raise was actually a straddle, this is why I assigned T6 and T5 in his range, this is also why I took so long in deciding to call. If it was simply an UTG min raise, T6 and T5 are not possible, however with a straddle I felt that it was very possible for UTG to be holding those hands. At the end of the day I probably should not of been in the hand at all...my only logic was that I knew I would be getting a great price based on the implied odds that the SB and BB would also come along, and if I did hit, I would most certainly get paid off.

    lol. Split suit deals with people sending in bad beats all day. 1 fold pre. 2 raise way bigger flop probably just jam 3. Rebuy maximum. This game is juicy, but hero is one of the fish making it juicy. 10 5 10 6 you put as a utg raising range? Let's assume that's correct, then there is way better spots then this, so fold pre and go back to jamming music/watching youtube. This particular hero needs to work on playing abc poker and just fold this pre

      Assigning T5 and T6 to an UTG raising range is unreasonable...however I screwed up in sending the hand history, the UTG raise was actually a straddle. This is why I assigned T6 and T5 as possible combinations.

    Need to fold this preflop. With the straddle there are just not enough stacks to have a chance to be profitable here.
    Postflop, I don't think you can (or should) try to get KT to fold, and once the king hit you were doomed.
    Two pair isn't a guaranteed winner ever, but short stacked you have to play like it is. Buy more chips and play higher quality hands.

    Yes it suck to face that turn donk and get the bad news after calling. But if he had checked to us, as a better player would in this situation, I presume, the plan was to shove ourselfes. So the result would have been just the same. Its just unfortunate, that he got there on the turn, but thats poker.

    That initial call with the crap hand costed him a lot of money in the end.

      He got a dream flop almost besides hitting a boat or 234 though. There is no way you should do anything but go all in on the flop after a bet and a call. Calling with k10 in that spot 6 way is extremely bad but I guess live players do it. Either way he wants a call despite the outcome.

    Many people would have just folded here, but given that Hero wanted to see a flop, let's assume we actually called. first amd foremost, an UTG minraise range does not include any T6 or T5 at all! unless he is fish, his range may include any pair, 56s+, AT+, KQ, KJ maybe, but he should have folded any T5 or T6 for sure.. Never include that into the range on the turn then. On the flop, what a bet? 10BB? He is drawing for something and he is not sure his hand is good enough, but he wanted to play when raised to. And the turn fold? should not hero have considered it?

    Hey James! I am wondering if the hand layout you use is only for playback? Like is it possible to play with it on pokerstars or something?

      I think he uses the poker tracker 4 hand replayer with a custom theme so wont be able to use it on pokerstars

      It's just a replayer theme for PT4 =(

    I mean If you're going to play 56 in this spot on the button with the min raise and all the calls, could 3 betting be reasonable or just fold and raise/call with better hands in that spot?

  • @JamesWilson-sb9iq
    @JamesWilson-sb9iq 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Lol this is why you never call preflop

    why not just shove on the flop and get paid off by JJ+ or some bad AT/KT/QT? Granted the only hand(s) i'm doing this with are exactly 65s -or- 66/55 against a TAG who likely has an overpair.

  • @G3eseH

    Well, i see no one pointing his great pot odds or best position, yes maybe not the most optimistic hand but considering the dry board and hand strength action seams inevitable, also a live game where u need to play a wider range because of the low volume.

    • @splitsuit
      @splitsuit 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Playing a wider range solely due to a low volume of hands is not good logic fwiw.

    • @synchronium24
      @synchronium24 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      What about the combination of low hand volume and rake (assuming the commission is based on time and not number of hands)?

    • @splitsuit
      @splitsuit 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      synchronium24 the rake is a foregone cost of doing business - if you have to massively adjust your strategy to overcome it chances are the rake is too high and not worth playing.

      👍 I agree w that. Facing draw heavy type opponents 9handed;in position to call a UTG min raise w 2callers and you know SB and BB are coming along for the ride while you sit on 100BBs.. If SB or BB squeezes then take the lose but if you pretty much smash the flop, like he did (assuming they have no pocket pairs in range being min raise and no 3bets) then jam post or go along for the ride and hope you don't get turned or rivered on -which he did. Poker happens.

    • @splitsuit
      @splitsuit 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have under 100bb effective stacks against more than half of your opponents in the pot (if SB/BB come along too) and the SPR doesn't allow you flexibility when drawing. Those are big issues when trying to call with 65o

  • @infosneakr
    @infosneakr 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    he could have ace king as well which is an easy call against. no way to fold in my opinion. his raise preflop range doesn't usually have many of the combos of hands that beat him. good video and a terrible fold by hero in my opinion. a whole bunch of hands will flat call the flop and shove the turn. all kx hands especially.

    • @infosneakr
      @infosneakr 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe not a lot of kx hands, but probably kq and ak to draw with two overs to the board.

    • @onthebeach8211
      @onthebeach8211 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think he lets go of most Kx on flip but it's irrelevant. There's very few hands that beat us period

    • @samuelecrotti9456
      @samuelecrotti9456 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seriously? Would he hold AK (whether it is suited or not), I reckon he should have bet way more preflop.

  • @MrLucidLJ

    The preflop call is bad but would it be fine to just open jam the flop and shove all in?

    • @RXnerdOfTheNight
      @RXnerdOfTheNight 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the table is full of fish who overvalue top pair or open-enders then maybe, but otherwise we're folding out 1P hands and getting called by sets and better 2Ps.

    • @MrLucidLJ

      RXnerdOfTheNight Whats the right amount to raise by on the flop rather then $65 maybe $85 or is it more?
