    Excellent Q&A. I agree that getting a master's degree doesn't make sense if ultimately one wants to practice law. FB groups are a great way to network. Thank you!

      @@TheGrayChronicles haha no worries! So what did you mean regarding the prosecutor vs defense atty question?

    • @TheGrayChronicles
      @TheGrayChronicles 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAspiringBoss I meant do you think that if the defense knows someone is guilty, it's still fair for them to get let off possibly. Say, for instance, someone is accused of drug trafficking, and they have admitted to the defense that they did it, but went to court and was let off due to the defense presenting a stronger argument to the contrary, would it be fair in your eyes?

    • @TheAspiringBoss
      @TheAspiringBoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheGrayChronicles that’s tough morally but I think everyone deserves their day in court and if the prosecutor can’t prove beyond reasonable doubt that the crime was committed, then “justice” requires that the person charged be acquitted. Also, I’d rather someone get off than be wrongfully convicted!

    I am interested in starting a career in corporate law. However, I am worried that with my lack of business knowledge that I won’t be successful. Do you think it’s worth it to get a JD MBA so that I could avoid a huge learning curve when starting my career in business law?
    Thanks for all your videos. You are inspiring!

    • @TheAspiringBoss
      @TheAspiringBoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for watching! So I’m a corporate transactional lawyer with absolutely no business background (was a comm major) the beauty of the field is that you learn on the job. Firms know they will have to train you and so i wouldn’t worry about that. My opinion is usually to skip a masters and go straight to law school but given you can do a dual mba/jd, I don’t think it could hurt but definitely not necessary. There will still be a learning curve though because the practice/skills, you learn by doing.

    • @TheAspiringBoss
      @TheAspiringBoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also you can take transactional related courses in law school that can be helpful too!

    • @TheAspiringBoss
      @TheAspiringBoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry about that. You will learn what you need to learn in law school. Right now just focus on doing good in high school. Take it a day at a time.

    You said that if you had to choose a different career, it'd be a serial entrepreneur. Here's my question for you, why don't you do it now then? This is not in a negative context, rather a question I think many people could benefit from if answered by you. If you had to give up law today, what would those first few steps be to become a serial entrepreneur, and again, why not now?

      Thanks! Love this comment. I have tried to have my hands in a few things but mostly passive investments. My legal job is very demanding and would be hard to actively be involved in other businesses and I really like the work i currently do. We shall see how things pan out though 😊
