I love your taste in rustic upcycle. I am monetarily challenged. However thru my challenge I've become sooo creative with the junk I love to collect that I find in bulk trash or things that people just discard on the side of the road. I learned to love this sort of style through having the desire to make a nice home. When I saw your video I absolutely loved it because it's everything that I love to do. My granddaughter comes over and always tells me "grandma do you realize how much this is worth if you really wanted to sell it, and I just tell her, I just love to create and keep what I've made. You've got really great taste and you're so very creative thank you for the tips and video.
So glad you’re finding lots of inspiration here on my channel it’s beautiful and you can take some thing that’s old and unloved and make it into a piece that’s beautiful again
Wow - you've changed how I look at things in the thrift store! I think I like the two wooden bowls tiered together the best, but there are so many great ideas here.
I have used round cd's in the bottoms of baskets on the inside or outside depending to help keep the bottoms stable so they don't fall apart from whatever you put in the basket and those cd's come in handy to make hanging Christmas tree ornaments gluing pictures or whatever on them and I still have lots and lots of cd's to use. I love your upcycles and your demonstrations on the how to part.... Thank you so much....
I use exterior silicone to glue glass for garden art. Clear Phillips GE Silicone II. Sometimes I use it for indoor glass projects as well, especially when it is not visible. It never comes apart.
I LOVE the tins that you turned into a tiered tray! I have several of them in my booth that aren't selling and now I have new ideas on how to make them over and get them sold! Thank you!
Greetings from Chile! New subscriber here :) . One tip for your planters: in order not to ruin them, place an open diaper (kind of the pot being the “baby’’s tushies). They will absorb all the extra moisture and it will give some humidity to the “ local environment ‘ of the planter! Once the diaper it’s to old, it’s easy to change it! Lol 😂. I do it and it works great!
awesome idea!! … shockingly, diapers are not flame resistant! they also make great fire pit fire starters! 👍 FR… give it a try! they burn long & slow enough to get the fire started! ;) TY for the potting Tip! 👍
i just LOVE how you use any & everything! my hubs complains that i save everything… i’m going to have to get him to watch! Then maybe he’ll understand! 👍👍👍
I just finished rubbing off the paper from my first board. I love it! I followed your directions and used your home made chalk paint. It came out perfect! I've tried other processes that are similar but not exactly the same but I never had any luck with the results. You gave so many good tips that I couldn't fail one Christmas gift done and I can't wait to do more. Love your channel!
i also use 6000 glue.. Did anyone recommend any other glues? id love to hear! 6000 can be messy, i don’t love the way it dispenses.. TY for the beautiful ideas! i too have much needing to find a place for! i made a sign for my complaining Hubs that reads.. it ain’t hoarding if your stuff is cool! 🤣🤟 Just Love Vintage & Victorian 💗
OMG Seeing your stash, just warmed my heart. I have almost everything that you have in your stash and I also need to get working on it. I especially love glass jars, glass containers,. anything glass. What a treat. I am so looking forward to see what you're going to do with all that stuff. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
I sat through the entire video, enjoying every minute of learning from you. It's amazing how you make such beautiful things from trash. Still loving watching you Deidre. ❤
I love E6000 and it's hard to beat. But, I also like Gorilla glue for crafting projects. I did a baby shower for my daughter a couple months ago and spray painted Mason jars with 2 coats of Dollar General flat white and they looked like they had been painted with chalk paint. Some Dollar General florals and brown twine really looked pretty. I added in fairy lights and some shredded foil and had lots of compliments. It was a very inexpensive way to make table decor that looked high end but didn't break the bank!
Ms Deidre I love tiered trays. I have done many in my time with thrift store finds, and this video has given me many more ideas. Thanks for the "How To Videos". More videos like this please. Tutorials on how to upcycle thrift store finds that are worth a second chance. Happy Holidays.
These are all amazing and used up all the bits n bobs. My favourite is the last one, oval shaped tier tray with the green spindle. They are all lovely and very useful. The basket plant holder is also second fave and your ideas are fabulous. Thank you.
In watching other diy videos, most suggest if you use both hot glue and E6000n they suggest put each on separately. Leave space between the E6000 to put dots of hot glue without touching the E6000.
I remember long ago going to the dump with my dad. I would be amazed at what neat things people would toss out. Happy memories with my dad. Thanks for the awesome video. Merry Christmas! 💖🎅🤶🎄
I was using E6000 on something and my son said the epoxy in 2 separate but same container that you mix works better- but you gotta get what your gluing in the right spot and it dries quick so gotta be fast and precise
I love the spindle projects. I saw the same thing that you did on the one with the blue spindle. The awesome thing about spindles is that you can cut them and cut them. They just keep on giving. Right down to the last little nubs.
I see a lot of people using the gorilla glue, in the big tubes like the e6000 and the star bond glues. I assume the gorilla glue is basically the same as e6000. I love the baskets. I just found a smaller basket, at the thrift store, that matches a larger basket that I have had, forever. They are both really old baskets, and I might try this with them. I like the rustic look of the round wood cutouts you put on the tall candle sticks. I love the tin can, too. I have more ideas, now. I am using some rough lumber to make one of my trays, so I am not sure the glue would adhere it well enough, but I will definitely just do that on ones that I make out of baskets or boxes or whatever. These were fantastic.
Miss Molly, good point about the glue, I am always wondering if they behave the same. I actually bought some E 6000 and gorilla glue to try against each other. I haven't done it yet, but I will. Happy new 🎉
The clear candlestick base on that "Pray Big" tiered project would have looked really good painted with black chalk paint! I think that would have made it look like it belonged together.
This video completely reminded me of all the things I have to put together projects not made but whats stopping me is I ran out of E6000 and spray paint and I haven't been to the store!!
I love all of your tired trays. They are fantastic. I live all of them. I tried the candel stands once, but used just hot glue and they didnt stay stuck together long. I haven't tried it with E6000 or gorilla hot glue. Need to give it another try.
I just watched this today, the one one with the basket and glass vase, just an idea,I think it would have looks good clear with some rocks or flat marbles in the vase then glued the vase onto the basket.but the basket looks good the way you did it to.
Diedre~I am a new viewer to your site, but I have to say I like your videos and listening to you explain things throughout each project. You are very creative and inspire others to DIY! Thanks! 🙂

I have never had any issues with the E 6000 and a hot glue not bonding

Right!!! so easy! Thanks for watching Roxann
I have seen a lot of people do E6000 with hot glue! Never mix the 2 and it gives you an instant hold while the E6000 sets up
