I highly recommend John’s course! Very informative, easy to follow and was able to learn a lot. I really like how he plays through many songs and shows how to play them accurately. Keep up the great work John, even though I finished the course, I’ll still be watching each new video. Thanks again!
So stoked you put this together! Your teaching is amazing! I learned a lot of. Your TH-cam videos in the past. I signed up as soon as I saw the course!
Hi there Jesus!! Love with Reggae music is the reason that made me to start learning the bass. I find your channel very good, lots of content and easy to understand. The rebirth part and self developement resonate a lot with me. Parabéns irmao!!
This is great. I'd also recommend Donstrumental (youtube channel) for anyone who wants to seriously pursue authentic Reggae bass (not saying instead of this, just giving another, additional channel). This one seems good for beginners, and the teacher seems to know their stuff.
Yeahhh! saw this yesterday and signed up today :)) I´m sure it will help me a lot. Thanks for creating this and keeping up the good work! Your former videos also have been beneficial for me. Be blessed!!
this is a custom made, by myself -- bought the parts and put it together myself. But it is based on a Fender Jazz Bass. It sounds fat because I am a producer/mix engineer and I know how to EQ it to make it sound like that -- nothing too difficult once you know what you're doing. Just buy a Jazz bass -- or a cheaper one, but make sure the pickups are the best you can afford. Then learn how to work with the EQ on the amp
Thanks for the lesson. Great stuff. I'd just suggest to turn up the bass in your mix. It's not that clear to me and should stand out a bit more for a bass lesson. Thanks again.
Glad you liked it!🙏 Regarding the volume of the bass, did you watch the video using headphones or speakers? With my studio monitors it sounded pretty good. Could it be you don't have a lot of subs? I'll put it a bit louder next time👌
No - because the root note are the ones on the A string -- which makes the notes above (on the E string) the 5th. D (root) - A (5th) E (root) - B (5th)
I'm travelling and have none. I've never understood why people err on the part of too low a volume instead of too high. we can always turn it down.@@fynii9478
You will definitely not hear the bass if you are listening on your phone or tablet. But, if you put headphones or connect to speakers, you will definitely hear - and if you put it loud enough you will feel it!

Groovy! I was singing along with a melody! Very nice!
Awesome. To get more clicks to your course I'd recommend adding a 20 second part 2 preview on what is next and why it's next level and awesome!
WOW, video is GOLD. Will study closely, thanks.
Your bass tone is amazing
I guess between octaves und triads you supposed to play fourths (not fifths)?

MASSIVE
Bro all good? I’m from the Moçambique- Maputo. Can you send backing track this video?
What’s the brand of that bass? Where can I buy it how you get it to sound so deep?
this is a custom made, by myself -- bought the parts and put it together myself.
But it is based on a Fender Jazz Bass.

Thanks for the reply. I love your work, is the MIM fender jazz bass a good start?
@@mjayo2468 yes, definitely a great start!
Thank you sir I appreciate you 💯
Sounds very good 😊 thanks
great stuff, thanks
Thanks for the lesson. Great stuff. I'd just suggest to turn up the bass in your mix. It's not that clear to me and should stand out a bit more for a bass lesson. Thanks again.
Glad you liked it!🙏
Regarding the volume of the bass, did you watch the video using headphones or speakers? With my studio monitors it sounded pretty good. Could it be you don't have a lot of subs?
I'll put it a bit louder next time👌
I played through my phone at first but then went to my studio to play through my monitors and the bass was still low.
The bass sounds pretty good
Magnifique
So fun😂😂😂
Great
song?
tankyou
It would be good if you turned up the bass a bit because what your teaching sounds good
Nice Mousepad
Yeah, it can make some pretty sick sounds!
🤣@@JohnJesus
Can you give the chords
2:33 isn't that 4ths?
Ooooh it's the 5th below but the 4th above. I get it.
No - because the root note are the ones on the A string -- which makes the notes above (on the E string) the 5th.
D (root) - A (5th)
E (root) - B (5th)
Please The base volume is my problem. It's low.
If you use headphones or speakers with a decent bass - you will hear it well 😉
please i can not here your bass guitar. please turn the bass volume up
Use headphones or speakers
But I cannot hear the bass because , it's volume is too low
Brother, you need to use headphones or speakers -- there is lots of bass!!!
Enjoy!
What is this ? The bass is muted.
No it's not lmao
Use headphones.
I'm travelling and have none. I've never understood why people err on the part of too low a volume instead of too high. we can always turn it down.@@fynii9478
I'm travelling and have none. How about creators record at a higher volume and we can turn it down if its too loud ?@@fynii9478
❤❤❤👍🏿
I wish you mixed the bass in with more volume..its a struggle to hear..
When you go to a real show..its the loudest part of the band
Please use headphones of connect to speakers that have a decent bass/sub response.
If you do it, you will see it is quite loud!
Talking too much in the introduction go straight to the main idea you want me to learn.
Is good but lm not speaking inglich
Don’t worry about that. Just follow what he’s playing.
Can’t hear no bass thou.
It's bass you got to use headphones or decent sized speakers
Is it me or can you not even hear the bass
You will definitely not hear the bass if you are listening on your phone or tablet. But, if you put headphones or connect to speakers, you will definitely hear - and if you put it loud enough you will feel it!
thank you
do you have a link for backing track?
