If your new to ghost and like immediately get Opus Eponymous and all the eps, I hear you brother and the others, first album in over a decade that all I did was listen to the same bands album over and over and over. Not since mercyful fatesThe Oathe and king diamonds first several albums, most recently kings last album, give me your soul, black sabbath espesh with oz, dio and ian gillian(sp?)judas priest loved em, Ozzie's solo albums over and over. I put all ghosts albums right up there with them. Might not see a phenomenon as good as ghost again for decades the way it looks. CANNOT wait for all the next up coming stuff that Tobias and papa do, BIGGEST FAN, I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND GHOST RIGHT AS OPUS DROPPED.

First heard about Ghost from my dad, he didn't think a 13 year old girl would care too much about them but I was hooked. Religiously listened to Jigolo har megiddo and year zero and then dad took me to one of their concerts in 2018. Magical experience, I cried.
What do you think of the new album Impera? It brought tears to my eyes.
My Grandmother thought thats how the lead singer looks, though I tried to tell her different. I even showed her a photo of the lead singer without the mask. She said, "its not even the same person, you must think im stupid". So I did not worry her anymore about it. Shes now getting into metal, she said "if this man my age can sing in a band like this. Then I can get into the music also and dance like that". Ghost are an inspiration to the elderly.
I got that she thinks Papa is a real person, but Tobias is barely in his 40's, how young is your grandmother exactly to think herself in the same age group as him?

It's refreshing to see a band where even with a mask on they deliver great vocal performances. In tune, on point and with conviction. Tobias (and the whole band) kick major ass.

Mesmerized! I recently discovered Ghost! I Heard "Rats" on the radio I had to pull over and listen! Who are they! Amazing Harmonies! At 57 years a former professional drummer back in the early metal days! Amazing! I cannot stop watching since! I cannot wait till I can catch them live!
The first solo in Faith always blows me away... Ghost is underrated!

@@magmarune259 They won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2016 for Cirice and were nominated twice last year for Best Rock Song (Rats) and Best Rock Album (Prequelle). I think they're slowly but surely getting more noticed.

I was at this show in particular and the crowd looks kinda dead on video, but actually being there you could tell everyone was having a good time and that people really enjoyed the show
Cpt Bloosh crowds usually look dead in videos like this. If there is one thing videos can’t capture it definitely would be the excitement of everything.
The crowds sound dead to enhance the concert audio without crowd noise.

why they usually dont play Elizabeth? its one of my favourite songs from ghost and tobias once said in an interview that the riff from Elizabeth is one of his favourite riffs but they play it so rarely. :((
i think that elizabeth isn't so much popular as the other songs, they think about popularity when made a setlist
Unfortunately they have to please the masses. They’re shows have grown. And yes I’d love to hear Elizabeth, bible, dues in absenthia etc. but they have to try keep the crowd into it as much as possible. Most of these fans are fans that latched on around Meliora. Soon I fear they won’t find time for majesty, spirit and especially Per Aspera Ad Inferi. Some of their best songs just aren’t popular enough to the masses. I watched it happen over two decades with AFI(my longtime favorite band). One of the last shows I went to they didn’t even play arguably their all time fan favorite song(it’s called god called in sick today). They used to end every show with it. It’s a bummer sometimes loving a band for a long time. Especially when you prefer the older stuff.
You can find it on the live album Ghost Ceremony and Devetion, plus you've got SECULAR HAZE, love it!! I've got it in Vinyl album, one of my favorite and totally agree , Elizabeth is such a good song!
I wonder this to a lot because it's the best track of Opus. I think one of the reasons they don't play Elizabeth is that it's a real bitch to sing. There is an obvious octave jump at the end of the song and it can be extremely hard to do. I've seen him nail it before live, to the point of bewilderment, and I've seen him struggle to get through it. Both in similar time periods. Try to sing that song to yourself it is very difficult to pull it off even for someone as great as Tobias.

Saw them in Trenton, NJ this past November, it was an awesome show. I can listen to Miasma over and over again and never get tired of it. Love when the Cardinal jams on the sax at the end. Can't wait until I can see them again.
That's Papa Nihil on the sax (played by Swiss Ghoul)! Miasma reminds me of the movie The Lost Boys and I love it so much for that. 🖤🖤🖤

Giant Center, it took me a minute to realize I was at this show!! Thank you for uploading this!! :) I was in the pit, super close to the stage on the front right. I stood on my feet for a good 5~ hours without a bathroom break to be that close to the stage, standing there throughout the opening act from Nothing More (great band). I have tons of pics and videos but didn't record the whole concert like this (my phone battery was also super low from GPS, I drove across the state from Pittsburgh for this). That was a rough time in my life but this show was a positive memory! I absolutely loved the concert. I caught a couple of the papa bucks they shot out during mummy dust, I have them framed on my wall in front of me here as well as some of the confetti!
Oh how I miss this! I'm so happy I went to this show, because it's gonna be a very long time before concerts happen again with this COVID bullshit. It's crazy to think I was standing in that packed-as-hell crowd and a few months later this super contagious virus is going around. I went to nearby Wal-Mart after at midnight and saw Ghost fans there, people stock up for overnight hotel stays. I miss all of that, now you can't even go to a damn grocery store after 10 here. :( The clergy really took over Hershey for a couples days. Everywhere you went there was Ghost fans, it was pretty surreal.
My story is very close to yours, haha - I also drove like 4 hours to be there, stood in line forever and then refused to leave my spot in the front when we finally got in (I was about three people back in the center - perfect for my first ritual). I also have a couple papa bucks and mummy dust tucked into a picture frame above my computer, lol. I'm with you, it was an incredible night and the next ritual (and new album!!) can't come soon enough. Hopefully this virus bullshit will wind down by next year so we can all enjoy social events like this again. Hold on to these awesome memories until then, dude!
It's finally here! I started listening in Jan. 2020 so I missed this tour. I'll be seeing them in SoCal in March and I can't wait! Hope you'll be going to the Hershey show again in Feb! 🖤

One thing I love is that at concerts you can see Tobias' accent, unlike the recorded songs, which I think is amazing! His accent adds a little extra to the songs!

I love how the person holding the camera actually does a better job than most actual cameramen who do this for a living.
Ok. So for me it's like this. I have no doubt Tobias is the mastermind, creator, director, songwriter, of this band. BUT....I do not believe he is the stage presence we see at most concerts. It's just Tobias. He's spoken about it extensively in some interviews, how the characters come alive when he puts the makeup on.

I hate that nobody knew satan prayer at the Colorado Springs concert. Disappointing, because Opus was the best album in terms of content and musicianship.
