In all fairness to Hu Tao's rap, that was probably a directing/editing issue than a treatment issue. Some fan edited it to have better timing and it became fairly passable, IMO. THOUGH i think that the sound mixing was a bit off in either case, since the vocals and instruments sounded like they were taking place in different rooms.

Sumeru actually did have a good story. All the story quest before were like "I came here to play a game, not to read dialogues for hours" But Sumeru's quest was like "I never knew I like reading dialogues".

In all fairness to Hu Tao's rap, that was probably a directing/editing issue than a treatment issue. Some fan edited it to have better timing and it became fairly passable, IMO. THOUGH i think that the sound mixing was a bit off in either case, since the vocals and instruments sounded like they were taking place in different rooms.
The editing killed that cutscenes. The Japanese version was a bit better,but not that much.
I switched over to chinese dub just for that quest specifically and thank god it was fine

I can definitely say maxorr loves genshin.
From mocking genshin in the first part to loving genshin in the second part we have come so far
quite a successful 3 years for the game
I mean, save for some... questionable choices in the development of characters, the game is great. Archon Quest can get really good and while Act I to III are mid, if the can keep up the quality of Sumeru we might be in for something beautiful.

The Hu Tao rap is... special in English. The tempo got seriously messed up, but only the EN version. The KR version is just fine, and I can't decide which I like best between the JP and CN. Someone was so bothered by the Genshin team's unwillingness to do another take, they fixed the rap themselves.
Today's reminder that Formosa Group, the Genshin voice directors, are the same company that Square fired from Final Fantasy XIV because they screwed up so bad. The game immediately because a hundred times better in English.

@@CrispBaker the English voice of venti just added a tune in that one quest and they just went with it, didn't even bother asking the higher ups, and actually managed to get the English dub to be the best one in that event.

Like you said if Sumeru is a sign of the new standard for future content and if they keep up with it in terms of story/mechanics/exploration, its scary how good Genshin is gonna get.

@@kami761 at least the main story writing in Genshin has been steadily improving since Sumeru, while Honkai has been going downhill for a while now. The last Arc has been a complete mess imo. Not terrible but far from their best work.
@@kami761 ehhh, not really even tho I play honkai a lot, the story of genshin is easy to follow and very digestible while honkai is all over the place most of the time.

Oh man, the editing here, everything’s going so fast that there’s no possible way you won’t get bored, even with a severely limited attention span. Best way to keep viewer retention up.
Sumeru actually did have a good story. All the story quest before were like "I came here to play a game, not to read dialogues for hours" But Sumeru's quest was like "I never knew I like reading dialogues".
They've always had incredible story ideas, but they've been definitely improving a lot at implementing said ideas
Glad to hear it. When I go back to the game and deal with a crapton of side quests and character quests from Inazuma/other places I will enjoy what Sumeru has to offer.

Okay this video is pure gold to me. The writing, the jokes, the alternation between badass cutscenes with badass music and just funny moments of bugs, incoherences, or just ridiculous stuff of the game, it's just too much, I'm dying from laugh :')
The reason Fischl is a good character is because she lives in an actual fantasy world, has actual magic powers, and is actually fairly competent with them... and _still_ manages to be a massive fucking chuunibyou.

It's ironic that I first discovered this channel through the first Genshin video. It's amazing to see how much maxor's LSD editing has improved in the last 2 years.
