Bought the medium two weeks ago and carry it in the truck every day. Absolutely fantastic. Wish I’d bought the large! It stores everything I need as an AEMT except a C-collar. Full trauma kit with color coded inside pouches for hemorrhage control, IV access, and airway, along with loops to hold trauma dressings, supraglottic airways, etc. Can’t go wrong with this!
As a combat medic I’ve never found the “Perfect Bag”. So just like you I’ve got different kits depending on the mission set. We do use an older version of the Tasmanian Tiger for our Combat Life Savers and they work well. The big issue is fitting a med kit in a field pack and having it easily accessible and being able to replace it with mini,al fuss.
The handles you mentioned are intended to quickly grab the bag when still open and run short distance to help another person. Think of triage. Open the bag, patch the guy, grab the bag by the two handles, run, help the next guy. No zipping and unzipping...
Nice to see some German products on this channel! EU viewers appreciate it! I personally try to buy EU made products to save CO2 (no long shipping from US required).
You can store the handles in the upper part of the outer pockets. Above the small Velcro ( this is to avoid that the handles fall down in teh lower part of the pocket) -or cut them away if you don´t need them.
I saw on their website that they make a normal and small bag combo. I am an AEMT and was wondering what you made of the combo. My ideal set up would be the small would be life threatening treatment with the main larger bag my diagnostic, meds, more secondary treatment/assessment. Also would be easier to bring a small bag for interior work.
Actually, the regular size, which is already the second iteration, is the original. The small and large came much later. Therefore you see differences between them. They are improvements not yet implemented in the regular size. I guess a mark 3 model is in order.
Sam my thoughts of the handles in the front and back are you could just pick the bag up while it's open it would keep it closed as you move from patient to patient
I have the tt fist responder move on mkII. This backpack is basically two backpacks you can take apart. You got you big backpack, and onfront there is the medium medic assault pack attached to it with a sip lock. Would be perfect for SWAT work. Carry the small one when you can leave your big one near by, but if you have to move alot you can carry all your equipment. When you reach your target, you can separate them and only carry the assault pack with you, but when it’s safe again you can get the big one. I am actually thinking about putting a little monitor inside of mine. A lot of special forces use this packpack
In my opinion med bags need a beaver tail type pocket like a lot of hydration packs have. That way I can carry extra clothes and snacks or I can cinch it flat.
Those handles that you hate are for at least two reasons. 1 so you can grab both handles and move the bag from Casualty to Casualty without having to zip up everytime. 2 so you can hang the bag from a vehicle or wall and work out of it hanging more like you set up a treatment sight or CCP.
@@PrepMedic around a vehicle headrest or helicopter that requires a piont on top and bottom? Seems like the main handle is to small. Also quick collapse and movement from multiple Casualties having handles is better then zipping up everytime.
I’m packing the medium one right now, In Kramatorsk! I think the elastic bands in the bleed and airway bags are useless. They don’t hold much thicker than a a tampon. I rather have big pockets so I can pack either Israelites of flat stuff like dressing etc
These are great, you might want to also try out Elite Bags, it's from Spain. I like it and use it every day, they got some tactical bags as well. I find the modul'S or paramed's really great!!
Looks like the large one is only $20 more than the regular one, which makes me wonder why they even made the regular one. Getting the .5 inches in depth, the elastic bands on the inside and an extra row on each side outside really makes those $20 more worth in my eyes. I also don't think that the .5inch in depth will give you the feeling that the bag is "too large" for your use and that the regular one would've been more fitting.
Can you please go over: 1) How you are wearing these Medic bags over your SWAT plate carrier with all your other SWAT gear (Helmet, Gas Mask, Radio, Pistol, Rifle... ). 2) How are you removing the Medic bag to get to your medical gear? Thanks.
All 3 would be used for camping (small) group working woodland (medium) and bls/als, fracture and major bleeding (large). For me they could all be used in a vehicle
Hey Sam , I’m starting college in july for my emt then go on to get my paramedic lisences and I’m wanting to work on a helicopter like you do , any tips going through college and stuff?
Hey Sam, how big is the medium or large backpack in relation to a C-Collar like the Leardal Stifneck Select or the Ambu Perfit ACE? Would they both or exspecially the ambu once fit in the medium one without folding them?
This is a great comparison between all three bags. I got the small medic pack. I love it so much that I got another. One I use for EDC and one bag travel. Regarding the Mini pouch, what are the dimensions? it looks useful as a tech/ toiletries pouch.
Hi. I also considered the medic pack for an EDC, but the large model. Do you use the am small one or the medium for that purpose? I would very much appreciate if you can share your impressions so far. Thanks
@@makedonum I use the small for my EDC. I like to carry as little as possible, but even fully loaded, it's quite comfortable to wear. I removed the panels and bought hook and loop pouches and inserts to suit my needs and work great to keep things in place or swap out as needed. I'll will eventually pick up the large for personal item travel. If you carry more stuff as EDC then the large will be great for you.
@@PrepMedic There's combat medics, there's the "good idea fairy" brigade and then there's the regular doctors and surgeons. Number 1 and 3 always do all the work. Just not a fan of these "situational" medkits. Now everything is either regular or tactical even if it works the same. So instead of getting reworked and field-tested gear you get these Mickey Mouse "what if" kits. Why not just rework the standard issue ones? Would have saved more money and lives that way.
@@mambapopenhoffer8706 That makes zero sense. You understand that these bags are standard issue in a lot of units around the globe right? "standard issue" is not a brand and is not the same thing in every military, LE, and medic organization let alone unit. Ergo, companies make better, more organized, more lightweight, tougher, bigger, smaller etc... to meet both specialized and broad needs.

Right on time. I've been using this brand for a few years now.
Yessssss I've been waiting for some decent reviews on these packs

You should do a video on you Diagnostic gear I am curious what you use?
I've been eyeing that line for a bit!
Thank you so much for this! I've been looking at these packs for a long time now, and this video was very informative

The website shows a high vis panel. Did that come with yours? Does it attach securely?
Yep! They all come with one. Easy to use

Yeah but I can hang it just as well with the main handle.

Can you put armor in the small pack?
What is the white square thing on the front of the Small size bag? next to the scissor?
what is the stretcher used on the first bag ???

I always feel more comfortable with larger bags for some reason like 100 liter rucks
Probably because of government contracts that require a specific size.

Anyone know if those internal clear bags are water proof?
To be expected from the same German company that brought the "Tatonka' brand to the recreational outdoors market.
Very reminiscent of my m9 aid bag
that light on the small one that is the name of that?
It's UNITY TACTICAL SPARK MARKER LIGHT

Yup, let a person who's never been in a firefight review an "Assault Bag". Next shot : Cat jumps out and we need 5 minutes to get things together.
