    Excellent combinations and big improvement on the Uchi Mata. Sequence 3 is my favorite since I love to attack with Ichi Mata.

    Hey Jeff I’ve been following you since the start of your channel, thank you for everything you do. Today I was able to consistently get takedowns after studying this video . I did a mix of your sequences. I sold my sparring partner on the arm drag, he turned, I underhooked for backtake, he defend so I went to uchi mata, he defended, I took the ankle. I was able to sequence this the majority of my rolls. Thank you so much

    Really useful. 2:08 In the hip throw it is a waste to grab the wrist.(The old gracie set up leaves a giant counter gap) By grabbing higher near the shoulder your body rotation would do the kuzushi. Hip throws in clinch sparring then work like a "standing lateral drop" aka Uki Goshi ( Your tailbone maybe pushing his left thigh back and up).

      MMA Shredded quick question...whats your favorite escapes,reversals, defense from turtle? Seems that is the position riding wrestlers like to stay and do damage. Some higher level dont even wanna take the back they just wanna ride and gnp. Example Askren, Kahbib etc etc

  • @ronnielewis-cdle9097
    @ronnielewis-cdle9097 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent Jeff! I will run these drills... This is how most fights end up and I prefer to strike but I know I have to get down and dirty... I hated all the wrestling drills back in the day but I do remember the high % take-downs like the Uchi- Mata and Double- Leg...

    Jeff your the best at this stuff and honestly don't know how we arnt seeing you on one of the big promotions or as some high level fighters coach I've started boxing bjj and muay thai about 4 months ago and trying to put it all together in a mma style with my sparring partners who are also at smiler skill level and time invested in the 3 arts I mentioned is proving to be difficult however your vidos are helping us so much in putting it all together I can't thank you enough for your content especially this video as we seem to be terrible at the wrestling side of things I'm going to drill the fuck out of thease take downs with the boys in the morning thanks again

    If you can step outside their arm drag foot with your opposite foot and pull them towards you as you arm drag, you can secure the back much easier. Also keep your head up on those singles, drive into their ribs with your forehead to take the pressure off the attack leg. Overall great video, I am a fan of number 4

  • @DC93p
    @DC93p 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Jeff, definitely would help if you added even just one part of a video helping with singles and doubles to not get guillotined.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is rare to get guillotined off a double leg takedown, but yes it can happen via single leg (with head outside the way I taught it). But if you keep your chin tucked and hit the takedown fast, its quite difficult to get guillotined. If you watch GSP wrestling highlights, he also executes his single leg takedowns via head outside.

    Awesome chain wrestling, if I didn't know better I would think you'd wrestled in college or something. Would be cool to see you do a wrestling competition one day!

    Instead of ankle pick after failed utchimata maybe we can footsweep the opponent. Would love if you made a video of that. Good n easy to understand instructions.
