Had a neighbor back in the 70's when I was about 14, he was an older guy, and an old school HAM operator, must have been about 70. He built big bamboo antennas, and had a company that sold them worldwide. Mr VanSlyke was his name
i have been building simple dipole antennas for a bit and have an AA600 and some basic fab skills. where can a guy like me the the info needed to build a nice quad ?
Start searching the net and what ever you do don't waste your time with the lame online antenna calculators as they offer pathetic performance compared to a properly designed antenna. The ARRL antenna book has lots of good info that can be adapted to 11m 73 -Gregg s9radio
that is a monster of a antenna... I beleive you'll have fun with your quad on this solar cycle 25. Propagation is getting better and better too. I love shooting skip when conditions are right and who knows, we might cross eachother one day on airwaves :) till then, 73 good dx de 9PAT508 FN77

Quads are awesome for sure. I think you would probably need a set of stacked yagis to compare.

Nice. I had a few quads in the past. Hard to beat the performance.

watts?
25kW when strung with 10 gauge wire. The beauty of the five element design is there is no matching network required.
@@s9radio you are driving it with 25kw or is it radiating 25kw ?
