I really would love a series made only with efemera made out of book pages. ❤❤❤ I have initiated yesterday of making an altered book , I have pould of the pages and folded the pockets. My favorite pocket is the butterfly one , I absolutely adore it and I will make some myself. ❤❤❤

I make altered books for many years now. I use thick books , so I have a good sturdy spine. Gluing the pages is not necesarry for me, because I use some mat paint or mostly paper to embellish the pages. I use the books as memorykeeping/journal/ collage/ artjournal. All in one The story of my familie is so entertaining to look this way. The T pocket you made looks great, I never saw that before , good idea!

Hi Jax, I do agree that starting a journal can be very daunting! So just grabbing an old book and tearing out pages is so much quicker and if you tear out to many it does not matter. Great way to start a little journal/altered book. Hugs Gi x
Oh this is fun! I made a couple of altered books only, but tearing out caused other pages to tear out. 😢 one I reinforced with tape and it worked and one completely fell apart. I will fix that one with stitching. 😊

Great video, thank you for a reminder, I have had a creative blocks for a while now. This weather in Vero Beach is so hot I cannot even think straight. This is going to be just perfect for me, I am heading to the charity shop now. Also I have lots of washi tape I don't trust either, should I add a thin line of glue before I add the tape. I am currently working on two altered books - however I glued the pages together and hide the torn out area then no tape needed. Love the video and how you are glueing as you go.

What a smart idea. I’ve done small albums and journals but I’m not proficient in making them . I also don’t download a lot of digitals as my printer is hopeless . The sliver of green (the cover of the book) just makes this pop! I'm not a big washi tape fan either, but you've accidentally chosen the perfect color to go with the green! 😊

Oh I just thought a hand made ruffle out of the pages would look cute also and some old buttons here and there, like make a fold over pocket with a button with wrapped string to close it all out of your book pages

If you are tearing pages from a book that has been glued (perfect binding), The book will eventually start losing pages. If you use a sewn book, which is better, as you tear out pages, be aware that you are also tearing out its other half.
That is awesome. Some how I always wind up with to many pages. Do I need to tear out more papers I tore out 6-8 pages....or do you have to go by how many pages are in the book . Thank you.

I absolutely love the butterfly page! Also, I don't trust washi tape for adhesion either, so I run it across the glue stick. It sticks really well.

Is there anything other than Gesso to prep the pages if you want to paint?
