You need technical skills, that is partially in you or not. Furthermore just work with the KTM workshop manual. Those are the best and all you need to know is in there!
i have a ktm 450 mxr quad and i need to know which oil filter lid i should tap for oil feed to turbo .its got 2 on top the crank case near the starter . im thinking one pump does the bottom end ,and the other is a lower pressure for the top end . i dont wanna tap the bottom end pump ,it will lower the pressure and cause bottom end wear .does anyone know which one is which?
Kind of a bit late but I believe they are inline, I've heard from the engine 'gurus' that the second filter towards the rear never actually catches anything anyway.
Did you rebuild the crankshaft too? What did your crank end play come out to and did you have to shim it? Gasket between the case halves or RTV/silicone seal? What was the total hours before rebuild? Does your meat loaf taste like 10W40 now?
No, there was no need for that, for not enough play to do that. Between the casings is always only silicone gasket, nog paper gasket as far as I remember. If it's not in the set, don't cut one yourself for the transmission is shimmed out for no paper gasket. There was no history on the hours. I don't eat meat loaf, but I don't like the taste of 10W40, that I'm sure of

How long does a top end rebuild last ? Assuming Heavy trail riding and occasional MX ?
My brother has a ktm 500 exc with 12 thousand km on it. Dont take in any oil. I think its around 400+- hours.
