- Brunello or Rosso di Montalcino, Which is better for you? Well, it is going to depend on what you like in a wine. They are both made up of 100% Sangiovese grapes but there are different production requirements.
If you like lively, fruity wines on the lighter side, than you will want to head right over to a Rosso di Montalcino. The aging requirements are two years overall with only 6 months required in oak. The result is wines that are friendly, fruity and delicious. They are also one of the wine world's best kept secrets.
If you like a big wine with some grip, tannins and dark fruits, then grab a Brunello. Brunellos are a great alternative to just drinking the same old Cabernet Sauvignon. The aging requirements for a Brunello wine is 5 years with a minimum of two years in oak so you know where the extra oomph comes from.
Enjoy!!!

She does not allow him to talk. Couldn’t enjoy it because of her interrupting ALL THE TIME
I'll tell her you say hi :)
You explain really well.
You just found a follower in me
Thanks so much for the note, really appreciate it. Glad to have you aboard.
My vote goes to Brunello!!!!! Obviously I prefer Borolo over Brunello, but Brunello is just such an easy wine fo drink!!
I go back and forth, but Rosso's continue to get better with each vintage and I find myself thinking I can drink less Brunello now as a result.
In my house, the wine has to be Italian, and it better be red. Two of my three favorite wines; Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino.
Strict rules, I like it. What is the third favorite wine?
@@DrinkinItIn I recently tried Re di Renieri from the Renieri Vineyard. I like it. The garnet color is mesmerizing. I also like some of the wines from the Campania Region where my family once owned a vineyard. The Gesuele vineyard is long gone (long story), but the De Falco Vineyard is still in operation.
@@JAG312 Wow, great stuff for me to look for.
The woman is so annoying
You believed it so much you said it twice!
