    This might be one of the greatest in studio songs ever recorded, it is amazingly good… What a sound and what a tremendous band Chicago was..

    People now don't realize they were a rock band when Terry was still alive and Jim Guercio was their producer.

      Lol anyone who knows Chicago for more then if you leave me now, understands to the fullest that when kath was around, they were so much more edgy and experimental...and a rock and roll band. Not the bubble pop crap that came after.

      Peter also should’ve never dropped out to go solo pop. His solo career wasn’t very good Commercial pop sucked and then came Amy Grant. 😢

    I’m on a Chicago watching binge and I’m surprised at just how different Peter has looked over the years. It’s like he’s a different guy in each different performance - same voice, though.

    Man i absolutely love the change up around the two minute mark when Kath's guitar kicks in. Such an amazing, raw tone between the guitar and drums.

      @@nicktackes3179 would have liked to have seen more of this instead of the bubble pop direction cetera sort of lead them in, but even more so really leaves something unfulfilled that's always going to be desired, being as we never got to see him (kath), go off on his own thing, which I'm sure would have probably sounded amazing.

    One of my favorites. Everything together just jammed! Peter’s vocals, the horn section, (Pankow just jams it), the beat, the change ups, what a fantastic time this was. So glad I lived it then. Saw them couple times. Dynamic acoustics in Rup arena in KY.

    When Kath died the band lots it's heart, and its soul was replaced by mind numbing ballads. It's joyful and sad to see them operating at full steam here, knowing it will all be gone...

    If this was '72, I was just three, but I remember when my hippie Uncle would drive Grandma's car to the store, it'd be on the radio and he'd crank it up and I'd be rockin to it in the back seat with my fingers behind me under the cushions rockin back and forth to it, great song! 🙂

    Other “CHICAGO” videos have their comments turned off…especially those about PETE CETERA LEAVING….. those videos ignore the monster issue, the suicide of TERRY KATH , the greatest guitarist of any genre of hard rock…. Indeed when JIMI HENDRICKS says “he is better than me”, that is something to take note of.
    Losing TK was a huge blow to CTA…. That said , the super groups they formed with EWF and DAVID FOSTER WERE EXCELLENT…. I think they had a gig at FILLMORE EAST the same weekend as WOODSTOCK so they couldn’t make it?

    Kind of wish the end part eventually dove into crazy Terry Kath solo. I can hear more of him on this take than the album version, but still pretty subdued. Curious about the decision to keep the cleaner sound throughout. Love the song regardless.

    From Day 1 - "That 🔥 Blonde" Was The Voice Of That Band! And An incredible Solo Career. His Voice Will NEVER be Duplicated! Kath was a Beast w Guitar- but his voice could not transition into the ever changing world of music back then, and he knew it. And if it were not for Pete- that band would never have survived the 80s!

    • @brianmerkel9558
      @brianmerkel9558 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      BS. Don't presume you know enough to make this ridiculous claim about Terry Kath. Music Scholar that you I have no doubt. Chicago was at its peak in the 70s, not the 80s. Kath played a huge role in that. You are a poser.

    • @AffordableEscapesShreveport
      @AffordableEscapesShreveport 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@brianmerkel9558 WTH! Look dude Chicago had 2 Peaks..72-75 and Then 82-85. I can go with Both! Kath knew he was on the way out anyway before he died. He told his wife and he told Peter. He & his wife were gonna build a house & go from there. Kath was smart enough to know that his voice could not transition & adapt to the ever changing music scene. HE KNEW IT! Music was changing at a rapid clip back then - and If you ask ANY Female who knew Anything about this band- we wanted the Blonde! The guys got into Kath. But it was the Female population who filled up the arenas!

    This band was so much more edgy, in a good way, experimental, raw, and pure rock n roll when tk was around. Not a fan of the bubble gum pop group they became afterwards. Wedding/prom music and nothing else lol. I wonder what would have come from him had he branched out and not had that accident. We missed out on something with that one. Sorry for his family ❤.
