ok but actually no joke this was my FIRST TIME EVER playing tricolor battles except for one time at pokemon fest and i was only getting sweet vs sweet vs sweet the entire first few hours i played tricolor. i did around 10 matches for that and i was confused because i never got to battle spicy or sour at all in those ten battles so because of that i literally assumed "i guess thats how tricolor works, you only face your team". It was that bad man.
Tbh when I was in a mirror battle my brain literally kept thinking “Does this count as a win or a loss?” As your technically on the same team so I just happily died inside every time it was a mirror match
I was real spicy and the entire time I played tricolor was mirror matches maybe one or two not mirror. and when I did normal turf war it was always against team sweet
From the perspective of a Spicy player, I was mirror matched, but it wasn't a whole lot. I played a lot of Tri-Color, because I enjoyed attacking, but defending was kinda lameish.
I hate that they changed how tri color works. It’s not unfair or anything for the defending team, heck the pokemon splatfest showed that so easily that we didn’t need for everyone to be any tesm
