i like that lift you made. Very good idea instead of spending $150 on a jack and the turn signals area great touch. to bad yamaha didn't make them factory that way, instead of having the rear tail lights stick way out in the middle of the lanes next to you lol.
Eric You will have to take your time. Start with just getting the wire that supplies running lights first. Next look for a turn signal supply and keep touching a wire on the light assembly until you get the match. Repeat for the rest. Take your time. You will get it.
I am not sure what valve adjustment you are asking about. I had the 1000 and 5000 mile service done by the dealer. I have completed the rest of the service by myself. The bike is very reliable and powerful for a 250cc.
I like the look of the bike without the backrest. I put it back on when I have someone to ride with me. When there are two people on the bike, the bike is much slower. I go on100 mile rides with two people. The bike does ok, but it is at its limit.
A couple of things that I do not like about the vstar 250. It is really hard to find neutral. I have talked to other owners and they have the same trouble, so it is a problem with the design of the tranny. I also do not like the foot pegs. My feet do want to stay on them, and the foot pegs are uncomfortable for long trips. The front suspension is too soft.it is difficult to find a replacement tire for the rear wheel, because it is an odd size. I Like the bike. It is light, so it easy to maneuver in traffic. The seating position and seat hight are good. I like the narrow handle bars because I ride in traffic a lot. Over all a good bike for the money.
Nice bike, and your improvements are just that, and I agree that a bolt on the inside of the bag would help. Have a question, regarding valve adjustments every 3 thousand miles, or what ever that is for you, how long does it take, and do they go out of specs fast, I have read they tend to need readjusting just about every time. Hey Erik. I need your help! I bought the speed master turn signal/brake light. I’m having problems with wiring. I took everything apart without first testing the lights. By the way I also cut the end of the Triumph wire clip off since it is different than the v star. Which wires go to which?? What type of connections did you use to connect the wires together?
It is just a piece of 2X12 cut to fit the bike when it is up on the stand. Then a hole was cut for the pipe. You slide the board under the bike, the insert the pipe in the hole and then pull the pipe down and it lifts the bike off the ground.
