This is absolutely what I’m looking for. I initially just wanted something small I can throw up to survey my property if I need to or have suspicions to. This is way more impressive than that. This allows me to survey thousands of meters ahead in potentially dangerous areas and if I fly upwards that can be invaluable in me determining escape routes as something like a hiker. It’s more than impressive technology.
The fact that there is not much in between you and the drone to disrupt the signal plays a big role in how "far" you can fly and have camera feed. Idk if this would work in a crowded city with many buildings and commercial antenna's for many uses and add signal noise...

I saw a clip where a guy went 11000 butbhe had to land it. I k ow you werent trying to max out the distance but showing that you flew to another island at the distance is great considering the risk of having to land in water.

@@Tony_33 yea tested mine over open lake as I live on the shore. Think I remember it starting to lose 100% strength a lil after 3km. It was getting dark and forget what the wind was like. Gonna try it during day on nice clear weather next :)
@@sRecollet I tried it again recently in a similar area and got 4182 meters, still had 2 bars, full control of the drone and no choppy feedback. Over 1000m of that was at an altitude of just 10 meters.
I was pushing 2000 meters however the motor randomly Jammed and it fell out of the sky however DJI is replacing it for free:) also it was a DJI mini 2 se

It all depends where you are. In hilly or mountainous area or in a forest, you can lose signal in 500m.

I was in Puerto Plata and when I would get 100m into the ocean, I kept getting the strong wind warning and brought it back.

Wow, the range is fantastic on the earlier Drone release patches. I went in December and lost Range doing an orbit on phi phi Don. Luckily it RTH
No this was taken from Mexico and flew over La sengrui, 10kms down the road from the islands of Batre.
