Mentally strongest athlete I've ever seen
What draws people to Mariusz, and the feelings of awe when you watch him, is how he absolutely gives his 100% no holds barred. And the amount of pain he absorbs without a single drop of fear.

In this video at 27: 55, he's 6'1" at 35:47, his true height returns and he's 5'11" Ronnie Coleman joked about this topic and said, 'he's more like 5'9". Why are they lying about his height? Probably because his agent thought he should play Superman or some other nonsense

Mark Dorchester Odd, a brutally massive physique of 313 pounds being called "most beautiful physique on a strongest man champion", but I agree, there is no other way to describe how Pudzianowski looked. Huge muscles, no fat and a tiny waist.

Back then guys weren't as heavy and big, Mariusz was like 136-140 kg at most. Just imagine him being 180 kg like todays strongmen O.o
+zxxXMETALLICAXxxz Yeah, he never crossed the 140kg line, just to show the big guys that size is not equal to strength. But when Zydrunas came back in 2009 100lbs heavier, Mariusz had to quit, that was to much extra weight :)
Yeah and nowadays strongman has become more powerlifting like then it was like 10 years ago

+zxxXMETALLICAXxxz Most of that weight on those guys is fat. Yes, they use fat for cushioning and as counterweights (as Brian Shaw recently said in interview). Pudzianowski most of the time had less than 8% fat on his body even at 313 lbs. He was all about pure raw strength and speed. In events like plane pull, while all others used their raw weight by leaning over to generate initial torque, Pudzianowski had a huge disadvantage of not being able to use his own weight as counterweight. He used only his raw bicep and quad strength to generate initial torque and then used sheer leg speed to propel it forward. Also, Pudzianowski had no cushioning available meaning if any weight fell when doing overhead presses he could not bounce it off his fat stomach like others. It would hit directly his muscle and could injure him severely.

Mariusz never been a boxer he was training some Karate. After strongman hes profesional mma fighter. Anyway he is a legend
+Max Maximus He started with boxing, that's how he gained mass, then strongman and then mma.
He never been professional or amateur boxer. He never fight in Boxing. Before SM he was doing karate then he moved to bench press and Powerlifting. I believe In 97=98 there was a first comp in Strongman in Poland. They invited people from powerlifting,bench press and olympic weightlifting to compite in first Nationals
+Max Maximus I understood and agree, but when he competed in his first strongman comp, he wasn't pro or trained for it. His dad encouraged him to test himself in a strength sport more than in an endurance
Agree :) first strongman comp in Poland looks like first WSM. Nobody knows what's events gonna be. That was interesting :) mayby a little bit bad for competitors
He is on video in 2001 saying he almost made it to the Olympics boxing team for Poland, but quit in order to focus on weight lifting, which eventually became strongest man competitions. He also has said at many times, he hated being hit in the face. He also has done quite a lot of Kyokushin.
He was definitely stronger back then compared to today.
Awesome video! He is certainly the greatest. To be honest with you, I used to watch World's Strongest Man competition back in the Pudzianowski days. However, I have lost interest lately since all of the competitors are typical fat, slow, sluggish with no personality or charisma unlike Pudzianowski.
Faisal Sheikh I remember those days too. The sport changed a lot since then, but Pudzianowski genetics was also amazing. The actual athletes don't have his the physical form neither his speed. Those good old days are gone, but sooner or later another StrongBuilder must show up ;)
StrongmanVideos Agreed! Just saw the 2003 Strongest Man competition (marathon daily on TV) and everyone was in awe of Pudzianowski. Runner up Jesse Marunde was miles behind. Bill Kazmier could not stop gushing about Pudzianowski's strength, endurance and muscular build.
Not sure i agree, brian shaw is the total package. He has a lot of speed and endurance for a man of his size.

Lol are you for real ? Strongman always a sport of men with huge muscle mass they need that muscle mass to lift heavy ass weight or pull plane ..truck.. bus that weighs many tons ... If a guy is ripped or have the athletic body type he will have more chance of getting injured than the rest ... Bcuz of the inhuman weight they have to lift most importantly the weights are more heavy in today's era as compared to past that dosn't take anything away from Marius he one of the best i would like to see him against the likes of Brian , thor, eddie etc

+Christopher Rutherford He had accomplished what he wanted. He set the world record, which still stands. No need to keep repeating the same thing forever once you have proven your point. He was already a millionaire before became the world champion so he does not do sports for the money. He only does it because he is a competitor by nature. He won hist last 5 fights. He lost because he got cocky and did not train properly for it (and he admits his training lacked severely). He will be back with a vengeance and his next fight will be announced shortly.
