If you understand that it hurts our eyes, do you not care, and just do it anyway? 8) How are you still allowed to make movies? 9) What dirt do you have on people in order to still get funding for these products you film? 10) Do you understand that every movie you've made is worse than the last? And the only one of any value was Dawn of the Dead? 11) Do you write your scripts in crayon? 12) Do you understand that it's a bad thing when characters don't act naturally, and the audience can see the writer's hand moving the pieces? 13) Do you understand logic, reason, and causality? 14) Is film-making in your eyes just like Legos, taking bits and pieces of per-rendered scenes and hastily gluing them together no matter how disparate they are from one another? Also tell him thanks for all the laughs, unintentional or not. Rebel Moon was the closest thing we've had to a Spaceballs part 2, so for that tell him I'm grateful.

My opinion on Watchmen is that Zack did an amazing job, honestly one of my favourite films. Granted as a side note I’ve not read the comic, I respect Alan Moores and what he stands for, but from an aesthetic point of view, Zack is amazing.
I loved the graphic novel for years before the movie was made, and they really did it justice. Even the changes they made (for example the ending) make so much more sense in the context of a movie.
Zack Snyder is such an enthusiastic guy. He is not greedy and business minded. He came here to promote his movie but had a genuine conversation from heart with enthusiasts. This is what Zack Snyder is in real life. He enjoys talking about these things with nerds. Watch his casual chats on streams with fans.

I'm a student at Los Angeles Film School getting a bachelors in Digital Filmmaking and one of the reasons (actually, THE reason if I'm being perfectly honest,) I decided to go back to school and pursue my passion for film is because of The Slow Mo Guys. I just fell in love with Gav and Dan super hard as a young adult. I hope to someday be at least a tenth as talented and skilled as these handsome lads someday. Videos like this are like fun little extracurricular classes for me. Love to see it. ♥

Near the end of the film era, there was an art project filming paint being flung into the air at high speed… All analog photography, and it took ages. By the time the filming was complete, it was just possible to digitize the high-speed and then composite and edit digitally. I can only image how the project would have looked if they’d had a Phantom and current storage and editing. I was doing still-image digital pre-press at about the time they were filming, and storage and processing speed was a huge limiting factor at the time. Sub 100 Megahertz processors, let along Gigahertz...
Between this and the "slicing an arrow mid-flight" videos, it should be plainly obvious that while Dan may pretend to be a goofy klutz from time to time, he's actually extremely coordinated.
I appreciate how after the first throw he immediately says "can you move to the zoomed position so I know where to put the apple" and I bet Dan and gav wouldn't have figured that out till like take 5
Snyder is far from my favourite director, nerd or person but I absolutely have to concede and admire his passion. We don't share the same view points on story and character interpretation but I absolutely love his energy.

I’m nerding out on this conversation about slo-motion video. As a drone pilot, I just love the thought of prolonging a beautiful moment to allow viewers a chance to fully appreciating what was in fact a fleeting moment.

Honestly….i never watched any interviews with Zach Snyder. But he seems like a really cool guy. As well as a camera nerd and I enjoy that tbh. It’s nice whenever you get to talk or even just listen to someone who is passionate about something. They always make something that most would see as just interesting or entertaining become vibrant and fun and enigmatic.

This is best interview with Zack EVER. I love that bit about telegraphing the slomo when you can notice the shutter angle. I'd be watching Dexter and it would cut to a shot with no motion blur and I'm like "aw this is about to be a slomo moment." And being a VFX guy I'm just thinking... come on, add pixel motion blur or ReelSmart motion blur to that choppy footage! I love that Zack is very technical minded. Specifically I appreciate how much thought he puts into the process and how things propagate and effect other elements and he can anticipate it and problem solve it.
I love the “applebox” bit… because for those who don’t know on film sets they use standard size wooden boxes for everything and call them apple boxes. They use them for standing on, lifting props or lights… it’s just a sturdy rectangle for anything so you constantly see and hear Apple box everywhere on a film set. So having an actual box of apples must be pretty weird and funny for someone who has been doing movies for so long!
Saw this on my feed and thought "It's late and I'm not really interested in watching these guys chat for 50 minutes, but I'll just watch the first 10 minutes." And 50 minutes later... I kinda enjoyed that! (Though there seemed to be some really distracting sound problems? Crackling, etc.)

I wish i liked zach's movies more because he seems like a real nice guy
Saw this on my feed and thought "It's late and I'm not really interested in watching these guys chat for 50 minutes, but I'll just watch the first 10 minutes." And 50 minutes later... I kinda enjoyed that! (Though there seemed to be some really distracting sound problems? Crackling, etc.)
We'd better see Dan doing stunts in the next Snyder film 😄
