It was a great line that hits really hard, but I completely agree with Lucifer there. He would have come to his realization either way, he didn’t need to miss watching her grow up, changing her diapers, watching her learn to walk and fly. I think they wrote themselves into a corner with the premise of the season (Lucifer abandons his daughter) and there really isn’t a good way to pull that off without killing him.
Just loved their relationship and see him as dad... He was so awkward trying to fix things, so like his Dad with him, but all he had to do - connect with her through music 🥰 Scene where he tried to convince her not to kill the guy gave me goosebumps and it's such a great callback to s5 ep11 👍
Nah, it was poorly written. They shoehorned a very human story with two characters who are immortal. So if he missed her upbringing until she was about 30, even after Chloe dies they can all see each other and spend time together when they're reunited. The series shouldn't have had the time-travel MacGuffin plot-device either.

But I think the story of Rory worked because it allowed Lucifer to come back a full circle in his journey. From being unable to feel worthy of his father's love, Chloe's love, from someone who tortured himself in hell for eons, now turning into a nurturing role actually made it a very well rounded journey. Also on the idea that both of them are immortal and all, neither of them know what's gonna happen or if they'll ever meet each other once Lucifer 'disappears'. That's the main force driving this arc. While Rory lived just 40ish years without her dad(acc to your reasoning), you also need to realise that the childhood years are significantly more crucial in who we become than anything that follows. You can say those were a blip in her immortal existence, but considering that blip was also her most vulnerable period of life, I think the tensions are justified. Also Lucifer had to intentionally be aware from his loved one's for another eons worth of time, as time works different in hell and 40 earth years would very well go into billions of years. I think staying away from his loved one's for that long, while knowing how deeply they(especially Rory) are hurting, I think the second part of your argument is pretty flat as well
This does SO need a sequel. Even if it's only a 'made for TV' Film.. And while they're at it, they should involve Rory AND Trixie. I can see SUCH great, and funny sisterly love.
A sequel that’s before this event or after? Because if after, not much of a sequel, this Rory looks young, as she’s half angel, but she must be 50-60, meaning Trixie being human is older and not still a kid. I would love little trixie back, especially when she finds out about celestials and such, with a half angel sister, they’re not gonna be able to keep that secret. Meaning, she’ll want to see her dad and Lucifer… Only plothole for me, Rory knows her dad is Lucifer, why didn’t she ever go down to hell to find him? Or go to someone there that knows more, like she did with Dan when she came back.

I mean the love confessions alone spoke volumes. And then Lucifer flying Chloe off to hell and other places was absolutely amazing. The character growth is so evident. I have watched it twice so far, but i want to watch it again. The one liners and the dialogues were so on point. Rory is like my new favourite character so cheeky and badass at the same time like her mum. I remember when I watched it the first time around and Rory hugged Chloe and called her Mum I was like: OMG, best plot twist ever! I am probably in the minoity here, but I loved the time travel storyline. The ending was bittersweet, but to me it was very sutisfying. They got forever in the end. 💗 What can be better than that? And also Lucifer practically becoming a shrink is so symbolical. Linda will be proud after all of the hours she put in into their therapy sesions to make him a better man. What are your thoughts on the final season?

Lucifer's character development towards the end of this series was so beautiful. I sincerely hope that all three of them were able to reunite in hell and be a family.
On my second rewatch, I liked Rory much more. As annoying as it was, it was completely necessary for her to be as furious and sullen as she was. There was no other way to make that season's arc work if she had pulled back from that.

Lucifer already gave Lux to Amenadiel when he was worried about disappearing. I'm sure Amenadiel can manage running Lux AND being God at the same time since, as Chloe pointed out, God doesn't have to rule from Heaven as any royal can choose where they spend their time after take the throne
From this video and the clips I've watched this made me realize how much I relate to Lucifer and why he's my favorite. Idk how I'm not going to breakdown when it comes to how he feels and sees himself when talking to Dr. Linda Martin. 10:30- 10:56 man that hit me a little to close for comfort. I feel the same about my dad but then I blame myself because I think I'm the reason why my family has gone down hill and some other personal stuff. Then the next clip just added slat to the wound with Lucifer saying " I know what it's like to be consumed by guilt, by anger, and self-hatred" got me.
In my head, lucifier was there. More active when she was younger and couldn't remember but later on out of sight. I can see Chloe holding big birthdays outside so he could watch from afar and then withdrawing all together when she grew older and the time was coming closer
I think she can but only after she traveled back and Chloe died. She alluded to as much when she said "It's just a blip", i.e. she Lucifer and Chloe will most likely spend eternity together and as soon as Chloe and Lucifer met each other, he was also free to visit Heaven as he pleased. The events before her traveling back in time are fixed but everything after is not. Why she never visited him hell before she traveled back in time is bad writing and not thinking things through. Time travel is a mess and it's the one thing this show never needed, which in my head canon, Lucifer ended after Season 5.
I was under the impression that she didn't know he was even in Hell until the end of her time trip. Why Chloe never told her where he had gone, I don't know.

I heard a rumor that Tom was done and the only reason he agreed to do Season 6 was because he got to explore the concept of Lucifer as a father. I imagine if they drew it out he may not have agreed. However, if they do a spin off at some point i could see him guest staring here or there
one of the few shows with amazing ending. Yea it possibly could've been slightly better (it's just my personal opinion) but I still love the ending and this is one of the reasons I actually rewatch whole series right now for the 3rd time.

God I know that we get there in the end but the Rory character starts off so annoying. A she is angry at Lucifer for stuff he hasn't even done yet. B when Lucifer just asks her what she wants she says she wants him to "leave her alone", WHICH IS THE SAME THING SHE IS MAD ABOUT, and C she gets angry at him yet again for not turnung up for something that she specifically said she wasn't going to anyway. The early episodes were horrific to watch at times.
It lines up with human psychology if that helps? In my degree we were taught that people push others away as a defence mechanism to not get hurt. They do this because they think they know they are going to get hurt (countless past experiences) so they push people away and hurt them before they can get hurt. In this case it makes sense because she actually KNOWS she will be hurt in the future. If you’re still interested, look up the “attachment styles” and how an avoidant and/or resistant style child is likely to turn out as an adult

Lucifer already gave Lux to Amenadiel when he was worried about disappearing. I'm sure Amenadiel can manage running Lux AND being God at the same time since, as Chloe pointed out, God doesn't have to rule from Heaven as any royal can choose where they spend their time after take the throne

From this video and the clips I've watched this made me realize how much I relate to Lucifer and why he's my favorite. Idk how I'm not going to breakdown when it comes to how he feels and sees himself when talking to Dr. Linda Martin. 10:30- 10:56 man that hit me a little to close for comfort. I feel the same about my dad but then I blame myself because I think I'm the reason why my family has gone down hill and some other personal stuff. Then the next clip just added slat to the wound with Lucifer saying " I know what it's like to be consumed by guilt, by anger, and self-hatred" got me.
In my head, lucifier was there. More active when she was younger and couldn't remember but later on out of sight. I can see Chloe holding big birthdays outside so he could watch from afar and then withdrawing all together when she grew older and the time was coming closer

Probably because Amenadiel placed a restriction or she cannot find Lucifer at all. Hell is a big place

I think she can but only after she traveled back and Chloe died. She alluded to as much when she said "It's just a blip", i.e. she Lucifer and Chloe will most likely spend eternity together and as soon as Chloe and Lucifer met each other, he was also free to visit Heaven as he pleased. The events before her traveling back in time are fixed but everything after is not. Why she never visited him hell before she traveled back in time is bad writing and not thinking things through. Time travel is a mess and it's the one thing this show never needed, which in my head canon, Lucifer ended after Season 5.
I was under the impression that she didn't know he was even in Hell until the end of her time trip. Why Chloe never told her where he had gone, I don't know.

As someone who has immense daddy issues, this whole season struck every last nerve I had and broke me emotionally.
The biggest problem I have with this is Lucifer’s new job healing damned souls that job is literally impossible because more people are going to hell every second meaning Lucifer will be doing that job for all of eternity

The way they explained it was that if he alters anything then the events won’t happen it’s basically like the butterfly effect. If you can change one event everything after it does

If he were to pop up secretively, without anyone knowing of his reappearance, without doing anything that could alter the events then it wouldn't alter the timeline. But we all know something that he does or might do could very well end up changing the future.

I heard a rumor that Tom was done and the only reason he agreed to do Season 6 was because he got to explore the concept of Lucifer as a father. I imagine if they drew it out he may not have agreed. However, if they do a spin off at some point i could see him guest staring here or there

one of the few shows with amazing ending. Yea it possibly could've been slightly better (it's just my personal opinion) but I still love the ending and this is one of the reasons I actually rewatch whole series right now for the 3rd time.

Barring Longinus, the Roman soldier who stabbed Jesus’ body with the Spear after the Crucifixion to prove that Jesus was dead, no NT characters are undying or unaging. The closest are those like Arthur or Holger Dansk who are predicted to return at their countries greatest peril.

God I know that we get there in the end but the Rory character starts off so annoying. A she is angry at Lucifer for stuff he hasn't even done yet. B when Lucifer just asks her what she wants she says she wants him to "leave her alone", WHICH IS THE SAME THING SHE IS MAD ABOUT, and C she gets angry at him yet again for not turnung up for something that she specifically said she wasn't going to anyway. The early episodes were horrific to watch at times.

In my degree we were taught that people push others away as a defence mechanism to not get hurt. They do this because they think they know they are going to get hurt (countless past experiences) so they push people away and hurt them before they can get hurt.
In this case it makes sense because she actually KNOWS she will be hurt in the future.
