Hello from British Columbia Canada! Just wanted to say I really appreciated your videos. I have just started mine and fuse is almost built. Love the way you bring your friends in to help and have a great time. I am going to try my 6s 3200mh. With 600kv motor. Will see how she does. Nice job of explaining adverse yaw, that an aileron that is down creates more drag than an up aileron, resulting in an uncoordinated turn unless rudder is used.

Here is the very short video of its first flight. Had some tech difficulties in shooting the vid so it is very short. The plane is a little bit heavy with a 6s setup so it is flying like a cub jet :) :) :). th-cam.com/video/G1EmiCqt3Yk/w-d-xo.html

On single servo aileron setup a circular servo arm is used instead. Place the linkage similar to what he showed in the picture at an angle instead of side by side.

Big hands big feet gotta feel for his wife lol ;o)
all cubs fly like this during maidens especially. they all pitch left. only mistake you made was not throttling through it. instead you backed off on the throttle and the plane pitched left. hold your nerve keep the throttle and up elevator with right rudder. i'll go up every time. And no, you can't trim something like this out. No matter what kind of radio you have, if you do a ground takeoff, this is the way. On the second takeoff you can see him pitch the plane right with right ailerons, very noticeable.
When taking off the key factor of the prop will Howlette to the left do you need right Rutter to keep it straight
#68: wow, that first maiden was scary, but after all, it fly's ok on the second attempt, Phil has made his (thumb) mistake more than good with that spare prop ;o) . The Cub looks VERY nice, just a tip; put some satin black on top of the cowling, that will create a nice look on this bird.
I would like to be there on the next maiden, those biscuits looks jammy ;o)

That would be better for the scale factor off course, have you ever thought on buying a 3D printer, very useful to have I must say ;o)
My scratch built cub also did that from the first attempt

Well you bowled a maiden over ! at first I though does it need more right thrust when it pulled left,did you add some for the second attempt ? anyway it looks very realistic in flight and I think was flown very nicely,another very successful addition to the Geeks hangar,congratulations everyone.
flies straight in the air. motor has some side thrust. low power tip stall. plus its tail heavy and control throws need reducing.
Hello what is the weight of your plane for the flight? Did you add weight to the front for centering? If so, where have you placed your center of gravity? cordially

Why was it strange that it went to the left? All tail draggers will do that if you don't use rudder. You were using right rudder, right?
Blackburn mono plane sounds good,What sought of size you got in mind? 1/4 scale would be good, something Phil could use his big hands on Lol
Back in the 80's i had the db sport and scale blackburn monoplane 102" only had 1 flight! i was gutted. need to revisit this model i think. might need a chrowd fundung campain to pay for it lol its bloody expensive :o(
How come you only flew it once? Do they all have wing warping? I was watching one on youtube looked very complex with the wing warping and push pull rudder lovely looking model though.

Hello chaps! A great series of videos which I have watched with interest. Nice one! I have a J3 Cub like this which I'm converting to electric from a 46 glow. Just ordered the same motor and esc as yours. What brand and C rating is the battery you used please? Keep up the good work!

Seems like a 3S would have been fine for this type of model. So would you recommend as a model to purchase?
For the prices its a winner! As to how well it flies needs a bit of experimenting with cg and control throws..

Torque, probably.
Electric motors deliver all available torque the moment they start turning.
Do you recon this plane will be able to take a cox 0.49 ex conversion?

JUST makes me giggle ready to fly internet models. As a designer and plan builder for over forty years and flying uk model shows for 20 years.
A piper cub HAS 1% dihedrale.
What a cock up IT DOSENT LOOK ANY THING LIKE A PIPER CUB. AND A perthestick electric motor AS WELL . COME ON GUYS IF YOU WHAT TO GET IN TO R/C DO THE JOB PROPERLY. AND AUTHENTICATE THE REAL AIR CRAFT. IN MODEL FORM .
