Hello from British Columbia Canada! Just wanted to say I really appreciated your videos. I have just started mine and fuse is almost built. Love the way you bring your friends in to help and have a great time. I am going to try my 6s 3200mh. With 600kv motor. Will see how she does. This is my very first build and am shaking in my boots haha. Take care and happy flying!
Nice job of explaining adverse yaw, that an aileron that is down creates more drag than an up aileron, resulting in an uncoordinated turn unless rudder is used.
Thanks for the excellent build videos. Immensely enjoyable! Your videos have helped me so much since the provided "instructions" are laughable. Enjoyed the maiden which makes a refreshing change from the usual reviews with their hyperbole and uncritical praise. Thanks again.
Cheers to you on a beautiful plane! Still slightly unsettled on the initial takeoff, but the second takeoff proved all to be well. Fine job on fine video series. ThankYou for all your efforts, I really enjoyed the adventure.
Have enjoyed watching this build guys, and congrats on the maiden! Might just push the “buy now” button myself and pop down to Elmset (Hobbyking just 2 miles from my house!) and get one to build over the winter!
Great job lovely Cub, I know what happened on your first take off, it's all that Welsh tea you've been drinking !! the plane was heading back to Cardiff Lol
Thanks for the build vids. I just pulled the trigger on this kit on hobbyking. It's on special :-;. I'm sure I'll be referring back to these videos during the build.
Here is the very short video of its first flight. Had some tech difficulties in shooting the vid so it is very short. The plane is a little bit heavy with a 6s setup so it is flying like a cub jet :) :) :). th-cam.com/video/G1EmiCqt3Yk/w-d-xo.html
On single servo aileron setup a circular servo arm is used instead. Place the linkage similar to what he showed in the picture at an angle instead of side by side.
all cubs fly like this during maidens especially. they all pitch left. only mistake you made was not throttling through it. instead you backed off on the throttle and the plane pitched left. hold your nerve keep the throttle and up elevator with right rudder. i'll go up every time. And no, you can't trim something like this out. No matter what kind of radio you have, if you do a ground takeoff, this is the way. On the second takeoff you can see him pitch the plane right with right ailerons, very noticeable.
#68: wow, that first maiden was scary, but after all, it fly's ok on the second attempt, Phil has made his (thumb) mistake more than good with that spare prop ;o) . The Cub looks VERY nice, just a tip; put some satin black on top of the cowling, that will create a nice look on this bird. I would like to be there on the next maiden, those biscuits looks jammy ;o) Cheers lads, and congrats on the build and maiden flight.
Well you bowled a maiden over ! at first I though does it need more right thrust when it pulled left, did you add some for the second attempt ? anyway it looks very realistic in flight and I think was flown very nicely, another very successful addition to the Geeks hangar, congratulations everyone.
Hello what is the weight of your plane for the flight? Did you add weight to the front for centering? If so, where have you placed your center of gravity? cordially
Back in the 80's i had the db sport and scale blackburn monoplane 102" only had 1 flight! i was gutted. need to revisit this model i think. might need a chrowd fundung campain to pay for it lol its bloody expensive :o(
How come you only flew it once? Do they all have wing warping? I was watching one on youtube looked very complex with the wing warping and push pull rudder lovely looking model though.
Hello chaps! A great series of videos which I have watched with interest. Nice one! I have a J3 Cub like this which I'm converting to electric from a 46 glow. Just ordered the same motor and esc as yours. What brand and C rating is the battery you used please? Keep up the good work!
JUST makes me giggle ready to fly internet models. As a designer and plan builder for over forty years and flying uk model shows for 20 years. A piper cub HAS 1% dihedrale. What a cock up IT DOSENT LOOK ANY THING LIKE A PIPER CUB. AND A perthestick electric motor AS WELL . COME ON GUYS IF YOU WHAT TO GET IN TO R/C DO THE JOB PROPERLY. AND AUTHENTICATE THE REAL AIR CRAFT. IN MODEL FORM .

Fantastic Videos, I'm building this plane with my son and could not do it without your videos. Thanks a lot
Great second attempt on the plane. Looks great! Congratulations on a very good build and Happy Flying!
Great Job, message to self, must get a new jumper for Christmas!!!!!
Just bought this kit. I really enjoyed watching your videos of the build. Especially enjoyed the biscuits and welsh tea episode.
First flights are always "heart in the throat" time...well done. Jim
Looks good. Nice job guys!
Cheers Brian ;o)
Nice work chaps, if your flying it this weekend, give me a shout, I'd love to see it.
will do matey
Well done Rob , really great to see it up in the air , nice flying .
Nice job of explaining adverse yaw, that an aileron that is down creates more drag than an up aileron, resulting in an uncoordinated turn unless rudder is used.
Cheers matey
great build series, well done to you all.
Thanks matey
Thanks for the build videos I have this plane on order.

Thanks Matthias
Most wholesome video ever ❤️🎉

Nice job well done Rob.
Cheers Clay ;o)

left wing rattles maybe bixler phil left some biscuits in it!

Better than cornation st ....great lads looking forward to next project.
Haha tipstall :-) lucky no damage! More power to the warp engines! :-)
Crosswind and i was a bit lasy with the throttle.
Not a tip stall at all. No where near it!!!!
Lovely maiden boys! When it climbed against the sun in the clouds looked like the real thing.
we said exactly the same!
Nice fly , nice video
Good job. Well done!!
Thanks Barlas. how is your Cub?

Looks good. YES IT LOOKED A LITTLE FAST LOL

That damned dog!!! :D
Nice hobby King piper j3
Phil the destroyer!
Big hands big feet gotta feel for his wife lol ;o)

When taking off the key factor of the prop will Howlette to the left do you need right Rutter to keep it straight

thanks fg. still thinking of putting engines on the cowling ;o)
That would be better for the scale factor off course, have you ever thought on buying a 3D printer, very useful to have I must say ;o)
My scratch built cub also did that from the first attempt
i was too lazy on the throttle
RC Model Geeks oh ok then mine was probably tail heavy or something like that it only had a few seconds of flight
good maiden very usefull some modification on the strut explication please ,i start my j3 cub in some week,s thank merci:)ps good cake at the end:))
might do another video on it...
if you have the time for christmas do it merci from canada
Are you going to use the wooden prop if so what size will you be useing?
It's Ricky Gervais
Well you bowled a maiden over ! at first I though does it need more right thrust when it pulled left, did you add some for the second attempt ? anyway it looks very realistic in flight and I think was flown very nicely, another very successful addition to the Geeks hangar, congratulations everyone.
flies straight in the air. motor has some side thrust. low power tip stall. plus its tail heavy and control throws need reducing.
Hello what is the weight of your plane for the flight? Did you add weight to the front for centering? If so, where have you placed your center of gravity? cordially
On the first takeoff I thought the swallow had grabbed the controls
Hey man I’m building this plane and your videos have helped loads really great stuff btw what prop are you using?
APC 12x6
Why was it strange that it went to the left? All tail draggers will do that if you don't use rudder. You were using right rudder, right?
Blackburn mono plane sounds good,What sought of size you got in mind? 1/4 scale would be good, something Phil could use his big hands on Lol
Back in the 80's i had the db sport and scale blackburn monoplane 102" only had 1 flight! i was gutted. need to revisit this model i think. might need a chrowd fundung campain to pay for it lol its bloody expensive :o(

Engine failure after takeoff! Crunch! I put a condor 4 stroke in it which was crap!
F##k me £395 you'll need a bloody big crowd Lol
Aww no all that work, I hate crashing!! not so bad when it's a foamy but when it's a built kit I'd be gutted.

Just seen the battery spec in part 16. :)
Wonder how it would fly with a 30 size 4 stroke in the nose..
I remember this plane was made by NumaVIG
What happens when you punch the throttle 100% after 5 ft. taxi
What sort of flight times do you get with this setup?
Seems like a 3S would have been fine for this type of model. So would you recommend as a model to purchase?
For the prices its a winner! As to how well it flies needs a bit of experimenting with cg and control throws..
needs a lot of weight up front. At least 5000mah...
@@Rcmodelgeeks Hello, how much weight should you add to the front? How much does your plane weigh in the end?
why did it cave to the left on first take off
Torque, probably.
Electric motors deliver all available torque the moment they start turning.
Do you recon this plane will be able to take a cox 0.49 ex conversion?
More like OS max 15ccm conversion
Thanks for Rob and sharing the video here for DW Hobby 1.8M J3 Cub,and you also could buy it here:www.amazon.com/dp/B07CYV2X37?ref=myi_title_dp
its really 1180mm so its look very big
Lost me???
@@Rcmodelgeeks oh sorry its 1800 mm
is this 1800mm? I dont think so!!! This is 1180mm?
