      This comment is dumb. Most of that audience didn't understand MMA either, of course Ellen needed to ask basic questions so that Ronda could explain it for everyone.

    • @OldSkoolBoxingg
      @OldSkoolBoxingg 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Krisb BeatS That's not the case... The problem is Ronda had this false sense of security... She thought legit she was a bad ass striker who can easily go to boxing and win world titles. Her trainer built this false sense of confidence, when really they should have focused on wrestling and better take downs with her Judo game... Also Ronda never throws ANY type of kicks.
      So when Holly completely destroyed her, she was surprised. It was like a reality check and I guess she wasn't ready for that because for so long she was destroying everyone and Edmond told her she's a monster.

    I think the fight with Holly did some real emotional damage to her as well as physical. She seems like a pretty wounded bird here all these months later. All the cockiness is gone and been replaced with humility. If nothing else the fight made her a better human being but to consider suicide because she lost one fight is ridiculous.That one loss did not wipe out the rest of her career and her achievements in her sport. Every fighter loses fights. Some of them lose fights in their prime and all of them will lose eventually if they stick around too long.

She may have lost this fight but she still continues to fight and not give up making her not really beaten, because she still has the will to press on. She will continue to improve and she will learn from her mistakes, that is what it means to never be defeated.

      It's actually the opposite. She thinks everyone's against her. She can't even look at Ellen in the eye when she gives her a compliment for being vulnerable. She doesnt know how to deal with this emotions. Being at the top means everyone is forced to love her. Then losing as bad as she did, is it a surprise that she felt worthless? Her worth came from fame, it gave her belonging. Watch her interviews, it's a consistent theme of her being on the defense, always sharing her frustration that someone or everyone is against her. It's sad.

      Guilty. And the whole thing was weird. Ronda got $3,000,000 for the right win or lose. Nunes only got $100,000 for the win. Christ I wish I had those kind of bargaining skills. Ronda essentially made $62,500 per second of the 48 second fight. Honestly, the way she fought, I don't think she wanted to win more than she wanted the money. You would think she'd hire a boxing coach or something after Holmes. Nunes hired one. It paid off for her.

      @@JLTalsma I think in this case it was a matter of strategy. Holly knew ronda is a killer when it comes to grappling. So she decided to maintain a striking fight where Holly had the upper hand. And there is nothing you can do to a striker who doesn't let the fight go to the ground. Believe me after many years practising martial arts I've come to that conclusion. I practised kick boxing for the most part plus grappling. But grappling was like 1/3 of my training. So, I never went to the ground with a judoka or a BJJ fighter, always keeping my distance and striking hard. Here I am, no losses, countless fights.

      "a bunch of nobodies"? If everyone went on to commiserate her would you say " I love how a bunch of nobodies are telling Ronda it's okay". Ronda brought all of this on herself. Being confident is fine but when you go on to mock your opponents and spew a bunch on negativity about them on Instagram, life itself will show you you're a human just like everyone else who can be beaten like everyone else. Everybody experiences victories and defeats but Ronda is receiving this backlash because of how Ronda conducted herself after each of those experiences. She needed this, not even Floyd was as cocky as her. She showed no respect in victory so she gets none in defeat.

So no wonder she got a big head: she was undefeated, she had the world on her side, and then she loses. Not an easy thing to face the world who ( like in this comment section ) are bound to spit in her face like she never won at all. Being suicidal after that, after having who you are, "the champion," ripped from you - is not at all surprising. But she has had an amazing career and deserves to settle down if that's what she wants.

    However I don't think Ronda deserves all the flack she got at all. You'd think she molested kids from the reaction of how some people responded to her loss. What she did for women in UFC is undeniable and she did bring it to the mainstream.. Yes she didn't touch gloves and a little drama before the fight.. +Kelly Davis It isn't only the drama before the fight, but the drama *after* the fight - specifically, this little display here on this video.
      She didn't acknowledge her defeat. Not once in that entire tear-laden rant did she acknowledge that she was bested by Holly. Hell, not even just "bested" - she was utterly dominated. It's easy to feel sympathetic for someone that's crying (especially in our culture), but look past the tears, and *actually listen to her*. That's not some humble champion appreciating what they've accomplished. What does she say? "oh my god, I lost... I should kill myself" followed by "No! *I should pump out babies*"
      That crying display of spoiled arrogance followed by the epiphanies post-fight set her own gender back fifty years.

A homeless man who finds a simple flat to live in will consider it like a palace whereas a millionaire who loses his money and finds himself living in the same simple flat would most likely be very miserable. It's all relative, all in our minds. She does have it good materially but she set great store by her image as a great champion and the respect and adulation as an exceptional athlete. I hope she learns from the experience in a beneficial way for herself and others. And I hope you find happiness too :)
