Hi when putting the drain plug back how tight do I nip it up? Am I likely to strip the thread? does it have a gasket or o.ring so I could feel my way? This is all new to me. Thanks
I don't know exactly torque figure but I just tighten up about half a turn after it's done all the way up enough to know the o ring is sealing n it's not going to fall out on its own. The plug is usually good for about 3-4 oil changes so if it looks old just change it. For piece of mind you could just throw a new one on they're not expensive. Hope that helps.
The one I fitted to my car was a Bosch oil filter part number on euro car parts is 503900237. Hope this helps. Please bear in mind though my engine is the 1.8 z18xer so if your engine is different you may need a different part.
AM Mods cheers for that gonna double check, got a 1.4 astra, don’t know if you can help also but spilt a little oil, and realised it started smoking under the bonnet, not sure if that’s just burning oil that I spilt or an oil leak?
If you didn't notice it before its most likely the spillage burning off on the exhaust or something. But keep checking levels and if it goes down constantly I'd check for signs of a leak.
You tried to go clockwise with the sump plug at the beginning. Then cut to you going anticlockwise 😂🤣😆
Many thanks for the video, very well explained
When you started the car,,what was that cracking noise,,
Liked the vid on the Astra h oil change ,do you no where the oil sensor is located on this engine my oil is flashing.
So grateful! Thankyou sir! 😅 😉
Can you change the filter without draining the oil first?
Where is the management light reset sequence
Very helpful thanks
What if you only have a driveway what can you use to lift the car?
I always use ramps when I change oil
Excellent. Thank you 👍 😊
👍👍top video mate

Drain plug is 14nm
Great, thank you. Is there a sump plug washer or O ring that also needs to be changed?
No washer. There’s a rubber insert that is part of the sump plug. It seals nicely
Nice !
big thanks for the video.. had no idea ..
Which oil filter is this mate? Ordered a Mann one off euro car parts and doesn’t fit

AM Mods okay mate appreciate that
What type of oil is recommended ! ?
5w30 fully synthetic
I use 5w-30 by General Motors. The engine works perfect. I try to change it before 15k km. (3 Times a year)
@@gavin9873 has to be dexos 2 for this engine.
GM oil not very good, There are much better oils with this specification-5w30 dexos
So basically get a mechanic
If you have no basic ability to use your hands or brain sure go pay them for it
You could have waited another 3-4 minutes for more oil to flow out, but you are clearly in a hurry...
