Jawed happened to be the best player but the weakest member of cricket team. He wasn't a Punjabi and this was his badluck.
Jawed was the real hero and architect behind world cup victory but whenever media and celebrities talk about victory they mention about IK, Waseem, Inzemam.etc but no praise for Jawed.
Also remember the revolt event against Jawed. All Super Stars like Majid, Zaheer and others refused to play under Jawed captaincy.

He was a very smart cricketer but man management was not his cup of tea.
it takes nothing away from his iconic stature in Pakistans cricket.
As far as the revolt is concerned, it were different times. During those times, a captain had to be of some stature, someone who commanded respect and respect in our culture comes with age.
His selection as a captain was also a political stunt. Read about the rift between the players and the board and everything. They didn't play under his captaincy cause he was from karachi, they refused cause he was too young and they also saw him as the Boards man. His man management skills were also very poor. That has been the case with him throughout his life.
He's got a great cricketing mind but didn't have it in him to lead a team. Rather than a captain, he was more suited to be part of something like a think tank. It's one of the reason, Imran and Javed worked great together
@@ecstaticfreak I like to recall when worldcup 1992 squad finally shaped up and Miandad wasn't shortlisted. The team flew away leaving him behind. After the interference of President of Pakistan he was allowed to join Pakistani team. His professional services, love and dedication towards cricket never recognized in a way it should have been.
The discrimination was and is always there. Hiding dust under the carpet continues with falls promises of bringing transperancy in system.

He wasn't part of the 92 WC squad, news to me. I think you are confusing it with the 96 WC and yes, as much as I love Javed bhai, he didn't deserve a place in 96 WC. He should have retired but he kept playing and you call that selfish act of breaking the record ? What? Discrimination? So an entire WC should be a Fairwell party for Javed bhai? Rather than making way for a younger hungry wolf, the WC should have been about "six world cup" record? Bro, are you for real?
@@faridnajam we had a great squad, good combination of youth and experience. Javed bhai, just pushed for his place for no reason. I still remember the news, it was all about his sixth WC and how no one could break that record. Give me a break brother and as far as I can think, Basit Ali gave up his spot for Javed bhai.
