- Unfortunately Enric Mas abandoned the real life Tour de France. But his dreams are still very much alive in my playthrough. In this one I'll be playing stages 4 - 6 of the Tour de France 2023, with Gorka Izagirre in yellow after the first three stages.

You can also remove tfs_maillot_tour from the WDB folders to have the trek-lidl jersey during the tour.
I have done it in the meantime. I recorded these stages on the same day I recorded the ones for Part 1. That was before the start of the Tour and before the WorldDB update. I recorded Part 3 today and already have the correct jerseys for all teams 😃
Didn't edit the name of Trek-Segafredo to Lidl-Trek though 😛
When you have that issue of the solar flare, press CTRL+T and it will be gone!

I have not played stage 4 yet, but it plays exactly as I thought it would. Disgusting stage finish.
My "sprints" have been so atrocious that I haven't even considered that the end of the stage was bad 😅
What is the "-1" or "-6" attached in your UI for your riders?
Already replied to your other comment 🙂 But now that you mention -6 I guess you meant the numbers next to the rider's stats. Those would be the bonus or malus a rider gets depending on their Race Day Condition for that race.
@@mairao Cheers mate - thanks for replying (To both Lol) - I am new to PCM but not new to cycling, it is striking my interest but unclear if I want to dive in or not. I have a few thousand hours in football manager, so this doesn't seem like too much of a stretch as far as simulation & management goes.
How helpful & noob friendly is the community?
The community isn't too big, but is mostly friendly, imo 🙂
The management side of the game isn't as in-depth as FM. The main dev, as far as I know, would like to introduce some FM-based ideas, but the team and budget for the game is quite small so it's hard to see a fast development. You'll often see comments about the game being the same every year, which is a bit unfair imo, but I can understand the frustration.
If the game's price is a concern, you can first try out last year's game maybe. You can easily find good prices in trustworthy reseller sites.

@@mairao I have asked that very question on the steam forums, but haven't gotten a response back. How much has the game really progressed over the years? THe last time I played PCM was back in 2014, and after skimming through each steam page, it's hard to tell where the improvements are. I am on the fence.
I only came to PCM in 2018. It didn't change dramatically, but the AI feels much better. They still make weird decisions and dumb attacks but those are less frequent. In this year's game I've seen the AI attacking with one rider and a few Km later going with their leader to link up with their teammate. It's much more challenging than it was in 2018. Especially since 2022 with the physical stats being more important.
The way the transfers work is one of the things I like the least. You can still mostly get all riders you want on day 1 of the market without any opposition by the AI teams. You now get a semi-limitation with the dossier points, but still...
The scouting system was a cool improvement in 2022. The planner and objectives system are way better than they were back in 2018, but still consume a lot of time.
The Pro Cyclist mode has seen two major improvements since I got into the game. The addition of the skill points and now the new training system that makes training and rider evolution better tied together.
So, there have been improvements which I think are good. It's simply that the game is very niche, therefore not making massive amounts of money. As a consequence, the money available to develop it isn't abundant and we get what the small team can do.
But if we look at FM, does it change that much every year? I think it's a recurring thing with sports management games.
I usually skip FM every two years. And I know many do it with PCM too.
