One of the good deals in Sansui receivers. Just replaced the bias trimmers in mine. My 881 is high mileage and needs attention every couple of months. Up graded the outputs with modern devices recently. Mine really sounds nice with altec model 5s. Like you, I get a lot of satisfaction resurrecting classic gear. You are right the xx1 sansuis get no respect. Bravo Zulu man.
Love to see the good times roll! Great to see it was a simple and cheap fix! The receiver looks retro and sounds great! Did you do any other checks - like DC offset or bias levels?
Yeah, I did those (at least I think so; if they were in the service manual, I did them). I spent more time on cosmetics, specifically the "frame" around the dial got lots of polishing and repainting.
Sounds good on the old TH-cam. Glad you're back.
I like your videos and always happy to see a new one.

I always look forward to your posts. I learn stuff and you seem to enjoy what you're doing. That's what it's all about, right?
Absolutely!
Another great video!
Thanks for sharing, good stuff!
