@@meghanjohnson9576 I haven’t tried it,, but I wouldn’t recommend Korean food from American stores mainly because it just doesn’t taste authentic. I’d recommend making it yourself. If you feel intimidated,, you can also buy a Korean tteokbokki kit from a Korean/Asian store. Those are easy and much more authentic.
How is it that your job is reviewing food on the Internet, but you don't know how to pronounce the food or know what's in it? Like, how hard/busy is your life that you can't take the extra 2 minutes??
On behalf of Koreans, I can assure you we're not mad at your pronunciations. We're sorry about the names our ancestors gave to this food. Sorry dear global viewers, our ancestors did not see this coming. The word tteokbokki is basically a two terms combined. 'tteok' is the Korean word for what you usually know as rice cakes. 'bokki' is a term you give a food that has been sauteed in a frying pan.
It’s not tofu skin. It’s fish cake. And the base is not tomato, it’s gochuchang and gochugaru. Come on, Kevin. I’m Korean. Please do your research before adding your commentary. It pains me to hear the incorrect info.
That is the worst pronunciation I’ve ever heard but at least you tried the food lol TaBooKey lol it’s pronounced more like..teock-boke-y 떡볶이 lol fish cake, correct (어묵). And the base is most definitely not tomato 😂

I recommend getting it with ramen noodles or cheese. Both are very popular options in Korea!
Costco has a ramen with tteokbokki. Worth trying? Or should only be fresh?
