I know Neal has been vocal about this in interviews before, but I'll repeat: Mike is much more than a great drummer. His contributions to the songwriting and arranging process are VERY significant to all of the bands in which he plays. Such a talented guy.
I can't believe The Door wasn't on this list and that Mike forgot that it was the first song on Sola Scriptura! Apparently his memory is mortal. Mike is my favorite post 70's era drummer. I can't believe anyone could be critical of his playing in any way. Of course you're going to recycle a drum fill or two when you've played on as many albums as he has. See you at the Sinclair in Cambridge in October Mike!
@@progreport It was probably a stupid question lol, but at one point Kyle said "roll in his grave," and at one point you guys said "in honor of Geoff," and I thought "NO!" Glad to hear I was reading too much into it.
That was a tremendously enjoyable show. I kept thinking while watching that I have all of the NEAL MORSE and NEAL MORSE BAND albums and there is never a moment when I want to skip ahead of any part of a song. It seems nearly impossible with the huge amount of music in the catalog. Imagine how much time all of the tracks add up to. I am sure that because of the subject matter and the sensitivities of religious opinions that many music listeners will skip Jesus Christ the Exorcist. Those who skip it will miss hearing [and seeing if you get the video] amazing music. Thank you Neal and all of Neal's fellow musicians.
Mike needs to host a podcast more than any musician that is trying to do it today...

There is NO musician more in tune with what fans want than MP!
World Without End! Thank you for adding that track -- essential.
Yes, truly one of the best.
Great episode gentlemen. Great to hear some background stories and so much wonderful music. Bring on Vol 2!

I'm tied with The Whirlwind and Similitude of a Dream.
I like that you can tell it's Mike on drums. You would always know when it's Phil Collins or John Bonham. His style is his style.
This was great thanks guys! Tell Mike said he missed Blue Oyster Cult- Fire of Unknown Origin from 1981 ;)
Great episode👍🏻! Thx.
Four Americans in a room and only one is a christian! 😅
Great podcast, as, always 💪🏻
Did Jeff pass? It seemed like it from some of what you guys said, but I couldn't find any news on the website about it or anything.
If you mean Geoff, he is very much alive and will be seen again soon. :)
