It’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of watching a Chase video.
Both my wife and I joke that we “can’t trust Chase after the bag he designed did not have YKK zippers”. 😅

the second batch of that backpack did have ykk zips. i got the version without ykk's and its all good

The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.

I travel with the Peak Design 30L Travel Backpack. 1.4kg weight. If your carry on gets weighed, you can’t pay a fine. They force you to check in. This is not an ALWAYS thing, but it can ruin your trip if you aren’t prepared.

Thanks Jeff! You've always been in my mind when I think of weight stuff :)

Funny thing is I’m watching this video on a trip to SE Asia. Left my Wandrd Transit 45L at home and using my osprey proxima as my travel bag because of the size and weight restrictions. I took the Wandrd Transit on one trip to Thailand and domestic US and it survived a downpour and carried myself and my kids’ gear. I highly recommend this bag.

This is the best looking Wandrd bag I've seen... I'm still not a fan of the Eddie Murphy Raw material, but this design finally seems like a departure from their usual scuba gear look.

Hey Chase, I don’t usually comment, but I’ve been watching you for years now, and just wanted to say Thank you for introducing me to bags and your style of delivery. I also wanted to ask you a question if I may that’s not bag related:
Are you doing okay? You seem a little off in this video, so I just wanted you to know that you’re loved and appreciated! 💯💕

The weird side pocket you’ve noticed is designed specifically for carrying a water bottle. It features a discreet drainage hole at the bottom to handle any accidental spills. The other side, where you have placed your water bottle, which you can do as well, is actually intended for a tripod.

Still love the old Tortuga Homebase Backpack that you reviewed back in 2017. All of the comfort of a Tortuga, but just 2.3 lbs (1.04 kg)

It's the rubber coating things man. I like buying things i can hand down. I got knives from dad and grand dad. Leather wallets and fanny packs. That rubber will be done in 5-10 years of traveling if it's your "main bag. The lay out is money though 👌🏿

Mine weights about 18 - 20 pounds depending on the weather. I use Hyperlite Mountain Gear's Southwest 40. I usually bring a side bag for camera gears(Two lens, 1 body, 1 go pro, one dji mic, and a small tripod) and laptop and have that as my personal item.

These bags are great but way too heavy. As you mentioned more low cost carriers in east and Southeast Asia are weighting carry on bags. I had carry on checked for weight recently: Hong Kong Express and Peach. In the case of HK Express the max weight is 7Kg for all items you bring on board (including duty free items purchased at the airport). You can’t buy more weight. Only possibility is to check in a bag (normally it’s around usd50 for a 20k bag)

This looks to be a well designed bag. Heavy I know but the organization decisions look to be on point. I know the tarpaulin face is kind of like Wandrd’s trademark but maybe they can release a version with a lighter kind of material?

Kinda feels stingy that a $300USD travel bag doesn’t come with the hip straps included and you have to pay extra for what should be a default part of the bag.
It does look good though and seems to be quite comfortable. I find my PRVKE 31 to be decently comfortable for its size, though I wish for a more contoured back panel, and the material on the straps doesn’t feel the most long lasting.

I love my PRVKE 21l as a day-bag. My go to for a longer period is the Tortuga travel backpack 40l (it's heavy for sure but comfortable). Chase, would you please consider reviewing the totepack you quickly showed in this video? I'm curious what your thoughts are about it!

Awesome review mate!! This in the 35L and the Shimoda Explore 35L v2 are the two im looking at. As an all round travel backpack (international carry on) /day bag/ camera bag. Which would you recommend?? Thanks heaps!! 🤙

I'm a big fan of Peak Design bags, I have three of them, but the shoulder straps and the back padding is much better and way more comfortable on this, and even on the Prvke, which is similar.

love the wasatch green colorway. was looking into getting a new bag for onebag travel, but was wondering if this would fit underneath the seat? otherwise, this bag looks super solid!

    • @kalvin.
      @kalvin. 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

Depends on airline, but typically bags max out at around 28-30L to be able to fit under the seat. It’s why I went with the Bellroy Transit backpack for any short overnight or weekend trips.

Chase, great review man! Does this fit under the airplane seat? That's a must for me.
I'm really looking for something to carry my gear, laptop, etc, while still not checkng a bag, but I have my roll-aboard, so the backpack must fit under the seat. PeakDesign 32L is prob still my go-to but looking for alternatives

    • @chasereeves

      @@chasereeves awesome.
Do you have a favorite, or go to, specifically for gear travel? Not photog-centric, necessarily. I rarely take my camera out unless I'm doing a specific video.
But I do look forward to finding a bag that could accommodate camera plus mobile podcast setup. And maybe a chance of clothes.
So, overnight, gear plus laptop, accessories, snacks, water bottle, 1 to 2 days of clothes. And fits under the airplane seat.
What video review should I watch?

If it is just clothes, transit travel to hotel/uber & no tech gadgets then Venture Pal 40L. Less than 1lb. So cheap I'd get another when it dies.
On a side note Wandrd discontinued their Veer packable 18L bag. Is the tote backpack their sudo replacement?
