Great video! I played the game for several hours now. The gameplay is fun, the game looks great, nice background music. But all of this is completely nullified due to the in-game systems which are way too complex and way too RNG imho. Both unlocking new characters which you would like to play and upgrading/leveling unlocked characters are almost completely left to chance. Which to me at least is incomprehensible and gives zero incentive to keep playing the game. Both of these things should be reworked towards a linear system. Experience for upgrading your characters, the more you play with them the higher their level will be. Currency for unlocking new characters, which is earned by completing any activity you do in the game. (The current system gives me flashbacks of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 as it was at launch, except here you cannot buy the boxes with real money afaik) Speaking of currency, as you mentioned in the video, the 3 seperate currencies that are in the game at the moment are unnecessary and confusing. Same goes for all the different menu items & game modes with each their own reward boxes. To me it's just too much. The game has potential and hopefully some if not all of these things will be addressed in the future.
Yeah I just really hope all these systems aren't deliberately annoying in order to encourage people to just buy coins to avoid having to participate in then. There are plenty of free to play games that do very well without resorting to those tactics
I am currently shard locked on Jasmin. I can get enough if I complete the available story mission (working on it) or if I spend money. I don't want to spend out of spite, but it hurts getting smoked in Ranked when someone is 25+ levels on you. Luckily my Mario Kart skills are paying some bills on the competitive front.
i am loving this game a lot! the only problem i have right now is the way ranked points are given... losing 20 points when being 2nd, winning only 30 when 1st... and it happends even when playing agains players who are all higher ranked... i know the game isn't finished, but i would like to see this being changed....
I'm enjoying it so far. Not sure if it's worth $30 for most people but i don't regret my purchase. I would say the racing here is more comparable to the Sonic racing games than Mario Kart as far the kart handling and track design.
Yea this 100% handles more like TSR did, especially when it comes to doing tricks off of jumps, I'm assuming you just flick the right stick in whatever direction just like in TSR
@@Anonymys43 RIGHT!!! I have to keep remembering to Tap a button instead to do a trick coming off a ramp. I'd be more than happy if they want to take further inspiration from Sonic Transformed and throw in some flying and boating sections further down the road in later seasons.
ranked is a right mess, got people doing the -1 lap win glitch (basically get lapped then cross the finish line just before the 1st position guy crosses the line, not sure if theyve fixed it yet) half full lobbies with ai bots, full of high lvl mikes and low rating so even if you finish 2nd you lose ton of points, this is what im experiencing at platinum anyway, not enough content to earn season points to spend in shop either or daily missions to lvl up the pass, once completing current season tour and starter circuits, youre left with a few limited events, daily boxes in season tour or ranked, my game time has gone from 10 hours a day to just 1 hour because of this, hope they make changes soon
I'm kinda getting to that point too in power creeping. I didn't get seeing so many Mike's until I used him with 2 stars... he feels broke. Always struggling with needing parts. The game is fun at least. Leveling and gear.. kinda hurts the experience.

The sweet spot at the start of the race isn't actually different every time. Each racer does have their own sweet spot though, and they might look different but some racers are actually the same. It's easier to work with the countdown timer. For example, if you hit the accelerator exactly when the countdown hits two, certain characters like Mike will always hit the sweet spot 👍
Great video. One question i have regarding the currency i didn't hear you talk about. If you know answer please let us know. Do you lose your different currency once the season ends??? Or does it roll over and you can rack up til your heart content? Thank you in advance for reply. 😎☺

It’s a fun game and graphics are great. But it makes me feel like it’s a mobile game with how the unlocks and stuff are. Still fun though but going to be pay to win so I don’t imagine playing it for long to be honest.
I think they saw this video and said lets make the most expensive pay to win video game! All the good stuff was said already so i will add on that this game is the real definition of a gold digger! And some of the prices aro sooo high, and labeled with a 80% discount.. i uninstalled the game because i didn't wanna see the actual prices..

Really hope they add Ralph and Vanellope to the game 💕 so far the level up system is a little too grindy, but the actual gameplay is so much fun!

The karts are a bit boring, need to tailor the style of them more to suit their characters.
