I find the longer you hold the pass button the more uncontrolled the pass will be, if not just a complete miss everytime. If you find you've messed up and held the trigger for too long LB or L1 will cancel it. Practicing accurate passing in training mode is good advice.
How do you get the AI to be more open or in position because when I'm passing my Ai sitting right behind their AI and I can never pass to anyone without intercepting
when playing against a friend I dont get a frigging second on the puck, cant deke pass or anything before he hits me. Is there any better way to get a pass off before hit n get the pass to go where u want or to b able to avoid the hit
Change your view settings to Ice and utilize backward and board passing when someone looks a foot away from you. A little tap in this game forfeits the puck so you wanna pass quicker or atleast turn your back/protect the puck
Use LT/L2 to backward skate with puck. Hold A/X when you're doing it to keep your back towards the net better...this will help you change skating direction very quickly making it hard as hell for your friend to hit you off the puck because it makes your movements less linear/predictable
What do you do when you pick the puck and you're on a 2 on 1 and you want to go for a pass for a one-timer in front of the net and the defender dives in the middle, blocking your pass? Do just go for the shot instead of the pass or what? I come across this many times and I screw it up.
The key is stickhandling and movement overall. Timing the dive becomes very difficult if the puck carrier is unpredictable. However in this game rear corner shots go in at least as well as one timers from 2 vs 1 so you should trick your opponent to dive and use it as advantage (it interferes goalie sometimes). Also most of the better players (div 2 and above) rarely dive
Cuz everytime I pass through some stupid arrow that points were the pugs supposed to go and then it just flipped around and don't end up hitting my guy at all
@@TwoManAdvantage Would have liked to see your LS and RS positioning when passing the puck. The biggest issue people have is missing passes altogether in this game. I think that most people understand to look for the open man on breakouts, know to regroup, etc. Also, maybe going into more detail about how you're able to exploit your opponent's position with certain passes (drop-pass, saucer, off the boards), would have been beneficial as well. Some of those passes looked a bit iffy to me, and I'm not sure how they would actually work consistently in-game. By the way, was this video sped up? If not, it's pretty impressive how fast you're able to make decisions when passing.

Love your videos and breakdowns man! Any chance of doing shooting one? I can never send the goalie the wrong way like you do! Help?
Thank you Daniel! And yes, I will soon!

Yeah that's all common sense how do you pass the puck to your team without it going everywhere else I don't understand the new passing mechanic
Cuz everytime I pass through some stupid arrow that points were the pugs supposed to go and then it just flipped around and don't end up hitting my guy at all
How do you pass across net on a 2 on 1 without it shooting.. I try to pass to across the net and it just shoots half the time.
You could be holding pass button for too long which makes the pass uncontrollable.
@@bryanruud2313 thanks! I’ve been scoring way more efficiently in those situations since your response.
No worries man! I was struggling till someone on TH-cam told me the same thing 👍
And if you know you have held the pass for too long you can tab LB or L1 and it will cancel the pass
@@bryanruud2313 ppreciate you my guy!
Excellent advice!!
Thank you!

This is much needed for me
Hope it helps!
The practice tip was useful too
Thank you, hope it helps~
Nice JDSBBP Store Pick
The BIGGEST problem I have with passing is that, not matter what direction I point the pass to, the pass ends up going just about ANYWHERE!
My passing bloody terrible lol
Hopefully this helped, I'll have a new one out in NHL 24!
Oh for puck sakes
When you open openly and it goes to the boards I hate that
Especially after face off 😮
Can't you make any video about playing the CPU? I hate this HUT BS. It's ruining sports games. Please post some tutorials when playing the CPU.
passing has been nerfed since GWC.
Man all those HUT players have no idea how to pass....you guys dont even show how to use the R joystick before passing in tutorials lol
lol, this was ridiculous. this video only served to show off your clips. learned nothing from this
Appreciate the feedback, sorry to hear you feel that way. What would you like to see instead?
