    Nelly, did you increase the IR as 'Kees Groot' suggested? If so did this significantly improve the night vision?

    • @NellysSecurity
      @NellysSecurity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kym, Yes we did. Unfortunately I found that out after we made the video. It does improve the night time image greatly. We are planning on making another night time focused video for this camera to emphasize this.

    Researching PTZ Cameras. I really like the size and functionality of this camera HOWEVER..at 4:03 in this video you say (the old camera you are replacing) "is about 3 years old which in technology years is like 20 years old". Thats a very valid point.... therefore... when considering this video is about 3 years old I can't but feel a newer generation camera with similar footprint and features must be available by now. Any knowledgeable home security DIY'er knows Nellys is a great source for information and equipment so I would like to know if you can recommend something comparable in size and function but "newer" than the NSC-2A4-PTZ.

    Hello, The Camera has a perfect Night Vision , However The Infra Red is default in the Software only 30% on (change it to 100%) or change it to 0% No IR on , then camera gives a more bright pic , because the Reflexion of his own IR , agains youre roof, has darks the Image.. Please try , I use 4 of the same Camera's and they are Great in the Dark. Sorry for my bad english

      Yes - I've done it now thanks, but not without minor damage which might make it less waterproof. It's very hit and miss - and applying leveraged force to narrow points on a thin plastic component is not a good idea.

      @@travismailsa1 IF you use a POE splitter, you couldnt power that with a POE injector. You would power a POE splitter with a 12V DC power supply and split that back out to your camera's network and 12V connection. In my opinion though, you should just use a POE injector and just use the cameras POE capabilities. It will be a much cleaner install

    se ven pocos vídeos mostrando la cámara en la oscuridad como emiten ese haz de luz roja (ir led) lo cual hace la cámara totalmente detectable y siendo fácil de inutilizar no entiendo porque no aplican leds IR de 940nm
    .
    Para mi las cámaras en cuestión fallan en que no dispone de IRled de 940nm por lo que e la oscuridad la cámara será bastante llamativa y accesible (emite una serie de luces rojas) pudiéndola destrozar o robar o inutilizarla. Las cámaras deberían llevar un sistema de IRleds que en la oscuridad no se iluminasen en el mercado ya hay modelos que utilizan leds de 940nm los cuales no emiten ningún tipo de luz en la oscuridad y por tanto hace que las cámaras pasen mejor desapercibidas, es importante que dispongan de WDR, IRCUT, P2P, codec H.265 o H.265+, conexión POE, wifi , aspectos como sensor PIR, PTZ, son cuestiones a valorar y que mejoran bastante la seguridad

  • @shojus
    @shojus 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    To me, it looks like you traded off zoom and night vision capability to get a smaller camera? If that's what you wanted to do, than mission accomplished, but I am guessing that the camera you took down had 20-30x zoom and IR lights that made it viewable within those parameters? That's something that I just would NOT want to give up, but to each his own... Great job showing the capabilities of this camera though! :)

    • @NellysSecurity
      @NellysSecurity  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, believe it or not, that previous camera was a 2.8-12mm camera. The one advantage that the old camera had was better night vision, but everything else, the new camera exceeded on.

    • @shojus
      @shojus 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NellysSecurity Wow, ya that was an older camera huh! :) I guess I assumed because of its size that it had at least a 20x zoom like most cameras of that size do. Anyways, it definitely looks nicer compared to those huge things! I have a 20x model with awesome night vision and I wouldn't trade it 4 anything, but it's also on the BACK of my home! :) Take care!

    • @NellysSecurity
      @NellysSecurity  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep it was a hawg for sure. it was about a 3-4 year old camera, but for a mini IR IP PTZ that was weatherproof rated, that was as small as they got just a few years ago. But yeah I have some 20x's on the back of my house too. Tough to beat a good normal sized PTZ. Thanks for your comments!!!

    • @ntaylor7758
      @ntaylor7758 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As an outdoor nightvision camera, without your additional sources, this is not a serious alternative. Particularly if your tour included that zoom to the end of your drive. Also, once you extinguished the other sources the gain increased and the IR internal reflections off the camera lens were disappointing for a dome with peripheral IR. Really it's an indoor camera as Hikvision actually promote it. Though even there it would have been helpful if you had panned it as the IR illumination looks poor at the edges of FoV. Thanks for your work in doing the video. Nothing beats a review of a real-world scenario. Well done!
