Yo bud just a quick tip, always lift the rubber boot on the caliper piston and spray some lubricant under it to lube the piston b4 u squeeze it in.. it will keep your calipers from Seizing up in the future and keep them working effortlessly with no resistance when taking your foot off the brake . I hate when calipers are sticky 😁
I picked up a White 99 with the V8 and Upcountry kit in May, it was a BC Jeep so very little rust. After owning just Cherokee's for all my life I've been so impressed, I love it. Quadra Drive is amazing too. Super excited for all the WJ content, keep it up! I've got a long list of maintenance and repairs to do in the future, lol.
Thanx P. Dan!! Im waiting for my brake kits to come. Will do everything new, pads calipers with brackets, disks and parking shoes. One question, in what position do you reinstall the parking break adjuster? The star nut should be in what position on the threaded rod? Keep It Up! All the best A.K.
Nice job Dan!! Btw if you ever decide to fix the axle seal, you have to weld retention plate`s bolt to the plate(or hold them with visegrip) as you torque them down, otherwise they like to rotate which they shouldn't. Don`t ask me how 😀
Finally got my differential in Specs & installed, axles in and driveshaft connected. Moving on to the puzzle my charcoal canister and components😢 A Puzzle…
Good Vid Dan showed everything to do the job! Merry Christmas to you and your Family 🎅🖒🇺🇸 My ex 97 Grand Cherokee ,someone put a hydraulic e brake on it.
Mr. Dan....I love your videos, have watched several which have helped me a ton. Couldn't help but notice, you weren't wearing your seatbelt in the intro....set a good example and buckle up bro.
Just did this job awhile back thanks for sharing!! I've got a wj question for you sir, for the 04wj oem spiccer 44 do you know if it is 5x5 lug or 5x4.5 ??? Customer service doesn't seem to know...
I’d do this but for some reason my axle seals keep going out after only 5k or so miles. Not sure why other than maybe using O’Reilly’s and AutoZone is not such a good idea and maybe should use Spicer seals. Axle vent is good and clear fluid is nice and clean so I’m getting kind of frustrated.
Dan.. I’m reaching out cuz I need some help… My headlight harness was destroyed when someone stole my after market ones in the Costco parking lot and I got a mess of wires. I’m trying to wire up the OEM ones but when I tried I have no taillights and no interior lights… I’m located in Fairbanks Alaska and headlights are a must.. Any insight would be greatly appreciated from the ZK Demi God DanH
My ocd just exploded over that broke wheel stud🤯🤯🤯
LMAO!!! I tried too ignore it so bad!
And the slider pins not cleaned/lubed
especially as it looks like one might have been binding already

Great tip!! Sticky calipers are the worst!!

Hahaha! Oh man . I guess I've been ignoring it!
G'day matey from Australia, Personally I would have replaced the axle seals before fitting the new park brake shoes. Nice job on this video..
Yes, Axle seals and bearings in the next WJ axle vid!

Hi my cable on the passenger side keeps retracting even though the lever is not engaged. Any idea why this might happened?
Well done

LOL, all WJs are 5x5
Is the EVAP problem why your check engine light is on?
Me gusto mucho su video, gracias por compartir su conocimiento, saludos.

Maybe your axles are worn down... I bet fresh axles and fresh seals will keep it solid

Make sure you connect your grounds back to the body
You should replace your lug stud when you are doing the emergency brakes... Is easy to do when you're at that point
I would have painted the hub of the disc and the caliper housing with flat black paint while I had the wheel off.
Abdolutely!
Dan if u need to use a smoke machine for the evap system just yell ill drop mine off..
Thanks brother.. I ending up fixing the evap and doing the trailer hitch about a month after I filmed this ... It's just old content 😔
Bro, looking like wf pkwy....if you know what I'm talking about, you know👍🏼👊
And defiantly would have knocked out that stud while it was apart 🤣😂 my sons 98 laredo failed inspection because he was missing a lug nut 🙄
No way! 3 outta five is passing!!!
@@ProjectDanH hhmm🤔 maybe its pepboys rules
Not going to fix that broken stud? It would have been a good time to fix it bud
Lol... I did have enough money to buy the diff oil 😂
@@ProjectDanH Been there before, 100% understand that. Oh by the way Seat belts man 😂
Hi Dan what’s the difference between an xj from a zj
An XJ (1984 to 2001) is a Cherokee and a ZJ (1993 to 1998) is the first model of the Grand Cherokee.
Thanks Bob!
Thanks
And I would love to have a ZJ or another XJ. I am currently limited to a 2004 WJ and a 2006 WK, both Grand Cherokees 4X4s.
👍🏻
😂
Привет. Не показал, как ругулировать ручник.
Watching this video makes me realize how much shit i have to do to my jeep to make it safe enough for my kids to be in 😅
LMAO... thats why Jeeps are the best! they run when they shouldnt run! haha
