@Well, fwiw, the hosts and the writers aren't as savvy as the people in the labs department. So I wouldn't judge them too harshly on that, for something that's that off the cuff/off script.
That's a generic Chinese mouse that gets rebranded. That same model gets reproduced EXTREMELY often~ the original version of it I had was the AULA Ghost Shark
Specially, the tech theory gaming pack which cost them 29$ usually is around 10 to 15$ where I live 😂 but it's popular in cafe's cause it's cheap to replace. And yes I used those keyboard, mouse and headphones, cheap but for what it costs isn't really bad as a gift for kids or people using laptops.
Haha. AULA. I bought my grandma an AULA keyboard and she loves it (also loves 'the pretty lights'). It is mechanical although the switches are not replaceable but it feels decent for a 20$ keyboard and was much better than the shitty super slim keyboard that came with her iMac.
9:28 This Game Theory reference makes me realize how both LTT and GT are both large channels where the husband is the main nerdy presenter and the wife manages the financial/business side of the channel
Work with some smaller/'family' businesses and you'll realize this is actually pretty damn common. More common than not to be honest, usually in smaller businesses it's quite common for a friend/family to handle the administrative stuff, as there's not a ton of people willing to do all that work for the smaller pay a new/small business can afford. At least it usually starts that way, but after time passes it becomes more daunting and difficult to switch out that person, due to their intimate knowledge of the company/process.
I had a red dragon keyboard and a $20 mouse from Canada computers that worked great for years. Ive upgraded now but I had no issues with either of them and they had no impact on my gaming. Red dragon really is a solid budget option as my steelseries keyboard was almost $200Cad and my custom one was probably around $250. Even my mouse is almost $100.
I have a Devrajas keyboard from them that I _loved_, especially after swapping the keys with Akko "Sponge" tactile switches. Unfortunately it started shorting out, so I switched to a Keychron, and will be trying to fix the Devrajas as a project. The Perdition MMO mouse, on the other hand, has been phenomenal. Both the G600 and Naga have had issues with cat hair messing with the optical sensor, but the Perdition has been completely bug free. None of these mice lasted more than 3 years, so if it makes it that long, it's a clear winner IMO, even if the software is jank as hell.
I've been daily driving a red dragon red switch mechanical keyboard in my home office for the last 3 years. The thing has had spills on it, been dropped and taken a ton of gaming abuse. It's deck is even bending in the middle and bowing a bit from all the pressure on it over the years. All this aside, it still works perfectly and has given me zero reason to replace it after all this time. I paid $35 CAD for it 3 years ago.

My theory, is that when companies claim it's (x) times better than the competition, this is the competition they are talking about, and they exist simply to prove the legitimacy of the claim, and they are actually overpriced knowing nobody will buy it, and for the grandparents that do buy them, they can make 3000 more, with one store buy. (And the store buys them at 20-50% of the listed price, so they are incentivized to have them, not losing money on even the heavy discounted prices on sales, and sales are just for storage space clearance.
that wireless mouse you used in the comparison is what I use for school and work, bc its good enough for me to click things 4000+ times bc the program my work uses doesn't always pay attention to clicks so you have to spend the first 20 minutes of your day clicking one thing to get the prep system open
24.99 at princess auto currently. The mouse and keyboard in this kit sells at dollar store for 5$ each. We have them both for the 1 year old to play with. I do play with a princess auto mouse and I liked it so much bought one for my son's PC. It has like 4 adjustments for dpi. I often switch through them depending on the game.
That cheap cheap mouse, the wireless one is one I've owned and for things like playing sims or just general use on a laptop it's honestly great and lives in my drawer as a backup in case of expensive mouse breaking
the mouse with the T on it has a wired version (10$ USD) which I've been using for years with no issues. if you're really on a tight budget, like a high schooler building their first gaming setup, I highly recommend it.
The wireless one is better. It's WIRELESS, and costs about the same. Win-win. Neither one is really super good for competitive gaming, but for casual games or productivity stuff, they're great.
@@t0njemy dude, the battery lasts about a year, and cost less than $1. If that's a problem for you, I'm sorry for your life, but you probably shouldn't be using a computer, as the electricity is too expensive.
Linus' point about second hand stuff is real. I've been using a 2016 Razer Black Widow Ultimate keyboard for over a year that I got from Goodwill for $9.99 for over a year now. Never thought I'd daily drive a Razer, but I'm impressed! Especially for the price. This was before I was able to upgrade to the $3k machine I have now. Because of that, I've intentionally left the sticker on it. Gotta remember where I came from.
I will always suggest a cabled Razer Deathadder for people on a budget. I got one off of eBay almost 10 years ago for around like $40-60AUD, and it is still running. They are practically unkillable.
I have that wireless mouse at 13:10, except with a red scroll wheel. That scroll wheel is crazy, it reads it so badly that it sometimes does nothing but when it does something it goes in the wrong direction about 40% of the time. It is a spare for when I leave my Bluetooth mouse at work, but I literally have to use the scroll bars at the side of pages or documents the wheel is so bad, basically unusable. However it is perfectly OK for basic gaming (I don't play multiplayer, so less pressure) if you select your weapons with the number keys.
I also purchased some of these products and I was also shocked by their poor performance. The worst part is they cost the same as reputable brands. Next time I'll do my research.
as a princess auto employee i always saw these and thought it was fucking hilarious. as soon as i saw the video i was like "no way finally" then linus mentioned our store. its insane how happy i am. (also fyi we are not an automotive store like most assume. we sell mostly trade/farm tools. its almost like a walmart for tools and the such.)
12:00 - I wonder if the color of the desk pad is part of the problem. When doing the big swings, the mouse is out on the black part. Maybe the sensor is so bad it can't pick up motions on black.
There's an ancient druidic saying, from the lowlands of Britain- "Just because gas station sushi didn't make you sick, that doesn't mean it's any good."
That first mouse is the EXACT same shell as my old "arachnid" mouse. From what i recall arachnids products were actually pretty acceptable for their price, granted all of their stuff was mass produced chinese gear that brands got to slap a label on and sell as their own. The mouse worked well for 6-7 years, it was about on par with other budget mice in terms of tracking etc, click inputs were no problem up intil it started to go all funkybunky after these 6-7 years. I really liked the shape of it tho! Fit my hand very well and kept my fingers from spilling over and rubbing across my mousepad (big deal for someone with sensory issues) BTW that "fire button" is a macro that spams left-click :D They also sold keyboards aswell, these were probably their best product with the one i had being a METAL chassis TKL with actual cherry red switches for like 60 euro! Both of these came with a DVD for the software, the keyboard let you make fully customizable profiles for both the RGB and inputs, the mouse would also let you change from a few premade RGB profiles and change up the inputs. Now a thing that this questionably real brand "Arachnid" was their headsets, they had about 3 different models at different prices from around 40-100 euro. I only got to try their cheap and midrange sets and both SUCKED, the cheap set were all plastic body and i kid you not they SNAPPED IN HALF after they fell like one foot, this happened TWICE btw. The "midrange" set was a bit better with more metal and tolerable sound quality, but they still snapped in half in the plastic after a one foot drop.. The brand did go under a few years back, probably for good reason as they only really had one good product with me mouse being acceptableish.
14:10 oh god, my first gaming mouse I used on xbox before building my own PC. Hey, it did the trick on converting a controller player to M&k so I'll give it SOME credit. Also thank you to Linus and JaysTwoCents for helping me build that computer :)
Red Dragon's new keyboards and mice are surprisingly decent, especially for the price. Obviously, if you can afford it, go with Razer or Logitech, but if you're on a tight budget, Red Dragon will get the job done. (*not sponsored, speaking from personal experience)
Linus' wrap up is spot on. Not only are they unusable and more marketing buzz words than actual substance, they're also instant e-waste even before they come out of the box and if there's one thing we can use way less of is more plastic and electronics ending up in landfills and the ocean.
I used my Razer DeathAdder 2013 until late last year (it had started double clicking on both the left and center buttons and got tired of taking it apart to fix that with a cleaning.) But it was perfect ergonomically for me and performance is pretty great on top of lasting over 10 years. I repleaced it with the white Razer DeathAdder Essential, and couldn't be happier. It's nearly identical (sans the actual rubberized side grip and the braided cable) and was SUPER cheap.
It's Razor's software that causes the double click issue. I had one of their mice for about six months and could never get it to stop double clicking everything, it was a nightmare. I switched back to logitech and have not had any issues since. That was like 9 years ago, the fact that Razor still has not fixed the issue is exactly why I haven't owned anything from them since, software is trash.
@@dartmaster5877 bro it is not software. It is china made Omron switches in both old Razer and most Logitech mouse. I had same era DeathAdder as the guy above, I put in Japan made Omron switches and it lasted me years, stopped using it, when it started look awful, because it was so worn down. Since that I had Steelseries and like 3 Logitech mouse and both G102/G203 had double click issues. Got a G305 now and I just accepted that I will need to replace the switches. BTW. I have yet to use peripheral that software for isn't completely shit. One thing good about logitech software is that You can change the settings, send the config to the mouse and remove the software, never use it again.
I can hard recommend Red Dragon. I bought the K556 for $60 a year ago and it's been an amazing purchase. Solid, good mechanical keys, and a great price
I used the logitech g203 and a redragon mechanical keyboard for years, including for collegiate esports. I have had zero problems with them. 100% would recommend them as a low budget option
Here’s me: sitting in my auto garage office, on my iPad Pro keyboard, imagining how this compares to my Razer Viper/Huntsman setup at home. My Razer Huntsman doesn’t have a phone holder though, which I can appreciate. 😂

Even funnier, that peripheral package brand was **Tech Theory**. So yeah, maybe it could have been a joke.
@@wondr.ful.That is the joke in the first place
Loved the little nod to Yahtzee Croshaw very nice
10:40 it's okay Linus we'll eat you last. :)
that wireless mouse you used in the comparison is what I use for school and work, bc its good enough for me to click things 4000+ times bc the program my work uses doesn't always pay attention to clicks so you have to spend the first 20 minutes of your day clicking one thing to get the prep system open
Linus should make a pc for matpat because he is leaving.
Tech Theory would be a great collab channel.

i can CONFIDENTLY say this was the best segway i’ve ever seen on this channel
24.99 at princess auto currently. The mouse and keyboard in this kit sells at dollar store for 5$ each. We have them both for the 1 year old to play with.
I do play with a princess auto mouse and I liked it so much bought one for my son's PC. It has like 4 adjustments for dpi. I often switch through them depending on the game.

well they have to pay for the crayons somehow
That's the Marines.

@@Elmojomo the latency issues are awful on the wireless one. I had both, I returned the wireless for the wired
@@Elmojomo Like the commenter said above, wireless products are known to sometimes have caveats compared to their wired counterpart
@@Elmojomo Wireless is better? In what world? Keep buying batteries for it?
@@t0njemy dude, the battery lasts about a year, and cost less than $1. If that's a problem for you, I'm sorry for your life, but you probably shouldn't be using a computer, as the electricity is too expensive.
If there where cheep PC components branded "Fart Dog" I would buy them for all my friends.
>$11
I got a similar 1000 dpi one for $2 but not in usa. plastic wears off and you might want to remove the added weight inside
The speakers are identical to a different brand set i got from poundland for £3. No rgb tho
I may have had my disagreements woth your channel in the past but yall also taught me everything i know
I will always suggest a cabled Razer Deathadder for people on a budget. I got one off of eBay almost 10 years ago for around like $40-60AUD, and it is still running. They are practically unkillable.
I wouldn't take that Powerbank On a plane BC they might think it is a 💣.
I've got to be honest. I don't think I've ever seen somebody grow out their beard this fast, that's impressive
12:22 those helicopter hands lmao 🤣😂🤣
as a princess auto employee i always saw these and thought it was fucking hilarious. as soon as i saw the video i was like "no way finally" then linus mentioned our store. its insane how happy i am. (also fyi we are not an automotive store like most assume. we sell mostly trade/farm tools. its almost like a walmart for tools and the such.)
I came here for the love of Princess Auto, got a surprised throwback to Skee-lo that warmed my heart.
Love how the bearded Linus videos haven’t caught up to the un bearded sponsored Linus.
Every time Jordan comes on screen my heart skips a beat.. WOOF!
4:28 I love that I'm not the only person who wears the I Am Kenough hoodie. 😂
Anybody else feel like Linus is slowly converting into Mark Zuckerberg from the more recent segue shots? just visually speaking xD
Fit my hand very well and kept my fingers from spilling over and rubbing across my mousepad (big deal for someone with sensory issues)
BTW that "fire button" is a macro that spams left-click :D
They also sold keyboards aswell, these were probably their best product with the one i had being a METAL chassis TKL with actual cherry red switches for like 60 euro!
2:43 .... linus.... was that a .. . freudian slip perhaps? haha
Why did you buy a deathadder essential...
I use the Redragon K556 keyboard and M993 mouse. Never had any issues, and work very well for me in Tarkov. Total under $100USD.
So no one is gonna mention how Linus goes from shaved to unshaved at the sponsor part of the vid ???
hugs my 2017 Logitech G102 Prodigy. 7 years strong and still serves me well
As someone who lives in India, I can almost guarantee you that you could get that Dart Frog mouse from the same factory but rebranded under a different name for like ₹350 or about 4USD.
Those speakers? ₹500 or about 6USD
The best low budget mouse I bought was the Hyper X Mouse for 13.99$ off the big A... Thanks for the video you guys Rock. :)
I have a Razer-knockoff mouse called a "T-Dagger Warrant Officer" and it works surprisingly well!
I am a REDRAGON user and I am quite happy with how their gaming mice, webcams and speakers perform. Also headphones.
While I know this goes out of the budget entirely
Spending $70 on a Deathadder v3 wired. Zero complaints, light, no blinking lights at you and a great sensor
Anyone know what game / test with the zombies and typing was called?
I wanna know that too
I liked the video, but I was wondering how at 12:05 Labs managed to miss this? I have one of these mice, and it's the first thing I noticed after using it for just a few minutes. It's a little concerning to me that it was missed
10:16 what game is this?
Typing of the Dead: Overkill
i loved the hamlet reference, after linus said the line it really made me think to myself "to be or not to be"
The jokes in this one hit really well. Well done!
i would like to mention that i have bought a higher end T-Dagger mouse and it has served me very well it has proper software and tracks pretty well, it did cost me around 30 GBP so it is more expensive but it works well
Good transition to the segway, you've earned my like
I would love to see an all Razer Gaming setup
An all shit gaming setup
the fact that a Big Mac is more expensive than the Budget Mice is even more baffling
At 8.17 U.S. dollars, Switzerland has the most expensive Big Macs in the world, according to the January 2024 Big Mac index.
