But for some reason people have a problem with it because "It's not realistic enough" BITCH it's a movie about a killer doll it doesn't have to be realistic if you don't like it watch some other shitty movie like Annabelle.

Child’s play was scary because you ca imagine a scenario in which nobody would believe you. You saw him kill a guy, good luck asking for help. You could do everything right and you would still fail. Even when chuckie was burnt to a crisp and shot he was still coming after you.
shelby hall it was also primarily scary because of the naiveté and vulnerability of Andy. His innocence allowed him to believe in his best friend until the end.
Not to mention when you see it as an adult; a small, innocent child, being manipulated and watched by a grown man, while the child's parent is completely unaware of what is happening? That's a scary situation
Mathilde Bruhn i think this point is the most valid one that im seeing here. The original movie becomes extremely dark once you look at it from the perspective of a man praying on the innocence of a child. I think this movie was supposed to be more funny than scary (granted i dont find the original to be all that scary either) and exaggerate the most prominent elements from the original but give them new meaning. The main killer could’ve been a cybercriminal controlling Chucky and going on a killing spree for money Also, instead of putting the doll on “evil mode”, make the cyber criminal I mentioned later inject malware inside of it or manipulate it manually to make it stronger

I was excited at least to hear mark hamill was doing the voice. He does a great job as the Joker-another creepy and goofy serial killer-but once I heard his talents were wasted I stopped my plans on evening seeing the movie.
There’s something terrifying of having it through the perspective of a child, but because of the age he was casted as, we didn’t feel as scared as we could of because we know he’s not naive like the 5 year old in the old one. I think having it from the mom’s perspective is more terrifying. As adults (even if we don’t have kids), knowing a kid is hanging out with a serial killer and the adults won’t be able to help him cause they don’t believe him is terrifying.
They could have made it like a serial killed who was a super intelligent hacker made the doll "evil" to get back at a corporation for taking credit for his ideas, or made it so that they were trying to figure out who is remotely hacking the doll/ using it as an avatar to commit crimes and the reveal is its some creepy basement dweller similar to the original but able to kill at a distance but still influenced by a real killer

As cheesy as the original movie is, the battery scene is still very effective, it's personally one of my favorites in terms of the suspense that's built up!
Unfortunately the scene gets kinda ruined when Chucky calls Karen a stupid bitch and filthy slut. It immediately turns into a comedy and all tension gets swept away.

The onboard computer of most modern cars controls everything. Well, almost everything. The sweat shop "safety off" button has serious implications because if it's that easy to turn those dolls evil then it immediately makes the monster less special and in return he has zero personality. If your insecurities over what people would say kept you from buying toys in your adulthood that’s on you.
Pathetic yeah I didn’t stop playing with toys because it felt embarrassing or anything I stopped because at s certain point smacking two toys against each other to fight really loses it’s charm and enjoyability
That’s something they could’ve explored, the meaning of growing up especially if the preteen still wanted to play with toys and maybe the mom didn’t want to buy him the doll and he increasingly got patronized for it from his friends to the point of isolation with the doll and then boom, the doll communicates with him ...
The original breaks my heart when Andy is on the floor crying,"he's coming to kill me!"

The onboard computer of most modern cars controls everything. Well, almost everything. You can disable the breaks, the airbag, the steering, any onboard cameras, etc. You would need to find some way to access the onboard computer and get into parts of the code that you can't normally access, which takes high level programming, but it's possible.
However, the seat belts are mechanical and do not connect to computer. Those cannot be disabled because there's no electronic components to it.
