Midori started playing the guitar with 20 and Miyako at age of 19. They were around 30 when this performance was recorded. But they started with piano at age of 3. Miyako still calls piano her first instrument and is on concert pianist level. She also shows this side at LOVEBITES performances. Try „Swan Song“ with the Chopin intro next. Great history there. The only thing I would ad is Midori at 19/20 went straight into ESP Japan's Musician Institute after dropping out of pharmaceutical college. She graduated with advanced Performer and Musician degree. They are both professor level in music theory and applied music theory.

This band incorporates Everything I love about driving music as well as tossing in a kitchen sink just for good measure. So, if Slayer invited Gary Moore to play a random solo in one of their songs, and then everyone turned into hot Japanese women, what we'd get is what we just saw.
If you replace Slayer by Testament, I'll agree. I know that I'm repeating myself, but the main riff of "Break the Wall" strongly reminds of the riff you hear for the first time about 34 seconds into Testament's "Over the Wall". Also the sound of this specific live version of "Break the Wall" reminds of the sound on "The Legacy" (the album which "Over the Wall" is from), just it's even better, and I love "The Legacy", which was my favourite album in 1987.
When you talk of Asami and comparing her to other such artists, she started out as a ballet dancer and progressed on to being a R&B singer. Some of her songs can be seen on TH-cam from performances 9+ years back!
As "Slayeresque" as it gets. An amazing solo section in such a song with the bass breakdown and the melodic/soulful 2nd solo in the midst of pure thrash. Lovebites, in my opinion, has no equals in being a total package.

You already know that Asami (that's the singer's name) sings in English - okay, older recordings are a bit unclear - if you don't have the lyrics in front of you - by the way, very worthwhile - not necessarily common in this style of music!
I am always baffled to hear Native English speakers say that they can't understand Asami signing in English. Is it because they are sheltered from the outside world and never heard any accent? I am French Canadian and heard English accents from Canada, US, England, Ireland, Australia and others growing up and I never had any problems understanding her accent.
It is definitely not Asami's fault. It is the listener making an assumption that they won't be able to understand her, and that preconception comes to fruition then because they don't really make any attempt to listen.
