Miftah sahib, as long as you (and people who maintain the same opinion) think that Army is a central political stake holder, the country cannot move forward. Army is fundamentally a security institution, and NOT political one. Military has to be erased off the political board of Pakistan for us to break the shackles of stagnancy. Let the mandated politicians decide where to take this country, only because they're the voice of people. If, as you say, Army is to be engaged politically only because they created the problems, then let the law should applied to them with equal muscle as it is applied to a common man.

Miftah Ismail was an incompetent individual to become the finance minister of Nawaz Sharif in 2014. Yes, he came from Warton School of business, which is a top business school in the US. After that he was hired by the IMF in Washington that trains such foreigners and sends them to a target country. In this case Pakistan. By the time he became minister he had no mid-level or senior level prior experience in any top corporation. From IMF straight to Nawaz government in 2014 as finance minister is a travesty. During his tenure the debt continued to rise which was already ruined by the Zardari government from 2000. Why does TCM not inquire this and ask Miftah such difficult questions as to what qualified him to become a finance minister. It is these substandard so-called qualified individuals that run Pakistan and then ruin it.

IMF’s job is to return money to the creditors. It’s a money making institution. It is on the onus of those that take the loans to use them wisely to make money on top of the interest and not only pay back the creditors but also make more to invest in themselves.
