This is patient teaching programme. The aim is that all ent doctors can ask our patients to watch depending on their problem so that we doctors need to answer the few questions they ask and we can save more time in procedures and surgeries

Is it possible, a piece of that pecking could have been left behind after removal?
My wife had a severe nose bleed for days. ER docs are not able to stop it, and she sent to a surgeon for treatment.
Now 8 years later, she went through 5 months of chemo for B cell lymphoma. After 3 PET scans, the only area left indicating cancer (?), is in the right sinus cavity.
I find it very suspicious that's the only area lighting up on the PET scan, after six rounds of chemo, and they can't actually identify what the tumor is, if it is a tumor. It's the size of a marble.
She was scheduled for a ct scan this week prior to radiation. Radiation & cancer surgeons will instead meet next week to consider other possibilities.
    Thanks in advance!

If a piece is left behind within days there will be a foul smell from that side. So, that is of least possibility.you said it was 8 years ago.
We pack the nasal cavity not sinus.
Nose endoscopy followed by CT scan with MRI can help

@@drzakirhussainent7860 A 3rd PET scan after six months of chemo lit up a marble size area of the right sinus. My wife was scheduled for radiation. At the last minute the oncology team decided to have a meeting of specialist and decided to do an endoscopic exam, followed by a CT scan, then a biopsy (this week) , and possibly remove (if possible) the mass first, as they have not exactly diagnosed what it is, and it did not respond at all to the chemo.
You've put to rest my concern of foreign matter from the noise bleed.
      Thanks!
