    Just want thank you for this simple support idea! I took it and did exactly as you directed. Using it with a new Terrova on my East Cape Lostmen. It looks like it is part of the kit. Cost a little bit more but still reasonable.

    I made the same thing to support my Ulterra. I couldn’t see spending $80 for one. I bought some carbon fiber vinyl wrap and wrapped the pvc. It looks like I spent more than I did.

    This does not stop wobble of trolling motor side to side. Up and down is not as bad as a wobble which will Woller out the motor pivot pin holes and become loose. If you rock the motor head side to side you will see what a side swell will do when slap the side of your boat in rough water and this device being shown becomes loose from the boat. Protecting the head is only one issue. I have solved both issues. Stabilized in all position and will fit to any boat.

    Hey Sig
    Saw your video and thought the stabilizer was an awesome idea. I sat and mulled it over about having to remove the post every time you load the trolling motor (can be a pain if you move a lot). And leaving it on the shaft with it sticking out 11-12" didn't seem like a good idea with spot lock. So I revised your wonderful idea by placing the quick fist on the side if the pole to where you can turn the stabilizer parallel to the shaft w/o removing the system. I took pics I can only comment. I'll send you my pics some other way.

    I find most boat mods on youtube can be easily improved by going with aluminum tube instead of pvc pipe. I suppose if you already have it in the garage and just want something that works, pvc should be good enough. But if you're going to make a trip to the hardware store, I figure you might as well go with aluminum.

    • @FishOutLoud
      @FishOutLoud  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Craig, Thanks for reaching out. About 90% it works fine. However, if you're in some rough waves, it does go back and forth and eventually work it's way loose. Overall it worked great and it very cost effective to make. Here's another idea, hope you like it. Remember, you're just one cast away... th-cam.com/video/BYztKKizFMA/w-d-xo.html

    But it can still go up so the foot will still bounce on the deck.

    • @FishOutLoud
      @FishOutLoud  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Todd, Thanks for te comment. Yes, it can. After awhile and depending on the size waves...it can come lose. The great part is you can just place it back and you're on your way again. Remember, you're just one cast away...
