My MinnKota shaft is almost directly 10" above a hand rail. I'd prefer not screwing anything into my gelcoat if I can avoid it. I saw another video using a strap with quick connect clip to the rail.

great question, it is ease i place a phatic bag in the tip and squished some to make a little ball at the tip and that really helps and if is a little hard i use a drill bit and that solves it, i hope this tip helps cap.

I use RAM mounts for everything on my boat. iPad, Mobile phone, GoPro. This will surely keep it steady at sea. Painting it partially white does make it blend more in with the boat. Great job. Hi Capt..... Love the bracket, and painting makes it look a lot nicer on the boat! You always come up with a great solution to fix any issue on the boat.... I like the bracket so much I'll be looking for a way to use one on our boat... I don't know what for, but I hope I'll find something to use it on!

Love your videos and like all of your attention to detail as a DYI'r, but a little concerned about this one as I think that ball joint is going to move during heavy seas. I think tying into the bow rail upright next to the trolling motor pole might have been more solid. Only time will tell. Keep the videos coming, Love your keys trips!
