    As can be seen at 2:22, the 36mm socket has been machined. It would be nice if you could let us know the actual external diameter this socket had been machined to.

      Thank you for the feedback! The size of the part corresponds to the size of the socket. Best Regards, Autodoc

      The socket has to be machined to an outside diametre of 46mm, about 20 mm in to fit inside the spindle

      Halfords 36mm socket needs the end grinding down, there's too much leading taper!

    Hey, it's a bit misleading - lots of stuff has been prepared/loosened beforehand.....you'd almost certainly need to put the ball joint splitter on the upper suspension BJ and have trouble splitting the lower BJ (tool probably won't fit on arm), then undoing the axle nut is usually very difficult necessitating a breaker bar (strong & long lever equipped with 1/2 or 3/4" driver) & even pipe extension, then a hub puller to get it off the driveshaft splines and finally a bearing press tool to get the bearing out and a new one into the hub. Tapping with a hammer as here???! Encourage people to do the job themselves and buy the parts at great prices yes; mislead them into thinking it's going to be easy without the special tools....no

    A video to replace the clutch master and slave cylinders would be great, common problem with these cars.

    I just did this yesterday after seeing this video and it took me a freaking 4 hours to complete. Everything was stuck and the hub nut didn't come off without two men. Also I had to cut some metal off of my tool to get it fit to the hub nuts place. And all this leaving me with broken ABS sensor because it surely didn't come of that easily... Now I have to replace that too. I got the bearing in and its nice but the process was not that easy to do. The video is nice in the way that it shows every nut and bolt you need to take off, but it would have been nice to get some warnings in the video that everything may be so stuck that it will take more time than 15 to 30 minutes. Also I would like to know where I can get the right size socket for the hub nut... I needed to make that tool myself...

    The Alfa Workshop manual specifies to tighten the 36mm axle nut to 67-74Nm then angle tighten to 62deg.... Not 10 ugga duggas.... 🙄

    • @joey243win
      @joey243win 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uggs Duggar is a calibrated unit of measure thou
      Wheel nuts is 3 uggas and a fly wheel 1 ugga dugga while the clutch cover is 1 ugga

    How to mislead everyone into thinking they can do the job themselves! No torque wrench settings for the wheel bearing then? The bearing may last a week or two without the proper setting but hey, it's only about how you look these days and not what's real! How to modify the 36mm socket without a lathe is not something non mechanics will know how to do but again they won't know that until they start the job right?

      @@autodocuk Oh dear..., guess my blood sugar was too low! Now that I have had a cookie I can say that I did take some value from your video. I have found that if the wheel bearing is not an O.E.M. it can sometimes mess with the ABS system and drive it totally hay wire! These are not easy cars to work on for sure. Thanks for the video.
