For me, the Morning Pages had incredible results. Right before I read the book, I was really angry. For the first week or so, I just cussed and screamed on paper. Slowly, I let out all the pent-up anger, and then poems appeared. I allowed love again. I felt free.
I used this book in my 20s. Mostly the writing part. And I will attest to it being life transforming. It’s too bad I didn’t stick to it for longer. I’m back now 20 years later and ready to dive back in.
I appreciated this discussion! Too many reviews and discussions on this book consists of crying or marvelling over how life-changing it was, without delving into critical thinking about why it works, and what isn't applicable. Thank you for providing a refreshing perspective, even if I don't agree with everything I found it very enjoyable and useful.
No baggage… that’s awesome that makes so much sense! I appreciate your podcast very much it’s nice listening to smart people talk about smart things. Thank you for taking the time to do this “the books of titans” podcast. I appreciate you both
I started on The Artist's Way journey two weeks ago and I appreciate your discussion on this book. This creative journey has helped me to become more open minded and I thank God because this is how I found your podcast and I now I am hooked. I can't wait to learn, listen and experience what brilliant insights the Holy Spirit has for me. God bless you!
I'm going to do these exercises for 12 weeks and see the transformation in my creatively..I'm a music producer and a lyricist who has had problems with my thoughts. The past and a lot of issues pop up in my mind..
i love this :) i really love the artist's way as well! I am actually reading it for the second time and doing a lil book club on my channel to discuss it :D i totally agree that her view on how the great creator is flowing through us is extremely powerful for us as creatives!
Lately I've gone through a burnout. I didn't know the right word to describe what I was going through, but I felt it was because I jad so much passion for art and creativity that I could never execute. Turns out it's called a passion burnout and it's a real thing! I wrote passion and burnout on google and it came up! It's not a block because I know I have so many ideas I want to work with but it all came up too fast and.. I felt like I had no time or money or effort. Burnout. It's tragic really. I've read some pages of the artist's way before and I thought "oh man.. 12 weeks! That's not gonna happen" lol. But now I realize that if you go at it faster than you're supposed to, you will exhaust yourself. Tomorrow morning the first I'm doing is read the book again and do the morning pages and everything else. I do think that it does have something to offer.
It's a song I recorded in Atlanta probably 15+ years ago. Branden Burch produced it, I played violin, and my sister played harp. We presented it to some musicians in Atlanta to use on their albums, but no one used it.
@@BooksofTitans wow! it is amazing and absolutely deserves a lot more appreciation! I'm glad we get the chance to listen to it here. Is there any chance to find it online? Thx a lot for the book discussions too.
@@christinemalo2999 No, just here. I did another episode where I played the entire song, but don't recall which episode. If I find it, I'll let you know.
I feel like the woman in Afghanistan probably isn't even aware of the lifestyle Americans live. Doesn't mean she will struggle forever. But based on your own experience you will garner what you want which is what you've been exposed to. Like you will have an idea of what could be better for you, so you ask or affirm for that. That's called the power of the subconscious mind. Probably in her circumstance all she would do is attract the ability to either just be safe or to live somewhere else entirely.
Agreed! And his pointless digression about why kindles trump physical books at the start .. so cringeworthy. The discussion about the book had literally just started and he steered it straight back onto himself.
Disagreed I imagine half the book deals with this intrinsic Christian shame. I can't see it as a virtue. If the reader has overcome such nonsense, he still has to live, read, etc. with a less fortunate majority. A good part of the book was useless to him. He mentions this, and that's his job.
Although I have a copy of the book I bought two actually I like to listen to this audiobook while I do my sewing by hand. there are a lot of things that I'll catch that I may have gone over too quickly while I was reading.
No, it isn't - two men babbling in a very annoying way, trying to paraphrase random fragments o Julia Cameron's book. Pathetic attempt to make Julia's authoritative work their own. Pathetic attempt at it and a dreadful listen!
It literally makes this podcast unlistenable. I have to stop what I am doing EVERY few mins. It's not like every 10 mins which is fine, it's every 2. WTF?
@@davidserrano3601 Sorry about that, David. I have turned off the ads from playing during the episodes now. There will just be one at the beginning that can be skipped. I didn't realize they were playing so often.

Billions is popular if you had also watched the early seasons of Homeland.

The person in Afghanistan would have goals appropriate for her situation in life.
the level or arrogance from the leading podcaster overshadows the values in the book in discussion.

The speaker who complained about the positive affirmations does not know about the Law of Attraction.
