  • To date, the FMeron from Iron Ether Pedals, is the closest thing I've found to true FM synthesis in a pedal for bass players. Just the simple feature of being able to take out the attack in the note, would have alone been worth the price of admission. The fact that it alos has an incredible onboard filter, modulation frequency selector to tune or detune the signal, multiple octave ranges, and expression pedal control of the FM wave, is a massive bonus.
It's one of the few bass pedals I've tried in a really long time that simply doesn't need anything else to make it sound hip. You can, of course, run this in conjunction with a huge range of other pedals, to take your sounds to ridiculous new heights. And towards the end of the video I did just that.
But in terms of right-out-of-the-box, bang-for-your-buck value: this pedal is a monster. From Blade Runner to Mike Dean (who has done synth work for Kanye West, Jay Z, and a host of other megastars) this single stomp box can do pretty much all of it.
