Il est franchement beau, en plus d'être talentueux et de dégager quelque chose de sympa et naturel sur les plateaux. Une vraie perle rare!

His father is French, if I'm not mistaken Timothée has dual citizenship.
I'm French myself and he speaks like a native, with no accent whatsoever. He struggles sometimes to remember some words and occasionally make minor grammatical mistakes but it's perfectly understandable since he mainly lives in an English-speaking environment.
Overall, if I didn't know his background and heard him speak, I would 100% believe he's French.

Acteur talentueux et absolument hilarant dans SNL! Je suis franco-américaine mais ayant vécu dans le sud de la France jusqu’à mes 21 ans j’ai un léger accent ici (Minneapolis). Je comprends donc tout à fait Timothée!

You are absolutely delightful in Wonka, but before that, there were Interstella from Nolan, Lady Bird and Little Women from Greta Gerwig, The French Dispatch from Wes Anderson, and of course, Call Me By Your Name. We all remember that. A love story set in the Italy of 80s, between a young Italo-American man and an older American man, played by Armie Hammer. [video plays] We all remember that incredibly refreshing and sweet movie. Timothée, this movie granted you to become the youngest actor in the Best Actor category in 85 years! It changed everything for you.
Timothée: Everything. Without this movie, I couldn't have had this opportunity to play Wonka. Yeah, it changed everything for me. The director, Lucas, changed everything for me. Timothée: Yeah, this song has been written by Ron Michaels. Not only this song though, there was also a song wrote by him for Willy Wonka the movie. It was his idea to do that. The rap section was written by the one I was rapping with there.
Interviewer: Because you are this way in real life? You are not like the ''baby face'' we are trying to sell.
Timothée: Yeah, I'm quite this way in real life.
Interviewer: Rock?
Timothée: I'm sorry, what?
Interviewer: Rock?
Timothée: [he makes a banter with a French slang word that is the equal of "Yeah"]
[They all laugh and joke about some stuff that can't be quite well translated as there is the translator speaking over them as well]
Interviewer: Timothée!! [Timothée looks his way] Timothée, in the movie, we discover an all colorful Willy Wonka. A 2023 Willy Wonka version that you have adopted right until to the Red Caperts events, we can see that here [photos are shown] in Tokyo, London. And I'm going to say it all with kindness, but still going to say it: there is something upsetting about you. Everything fits you! [Timothée laughs] How do you do that??
Timothée: I'm never eating.
Interviewer: Hey, we are all eating here, but if we are trying to get the look, it'll still never fit us at all.
Timothée: Well, you gotta to try.
Interviewer: What I like about you is that you embody a kind of a modern masculinity... and that is probably our only common point: the sensitive masculinity. It serves you most of the time, but can also get you a lot of enemies.
Timothée: Well, yeah, but in fact, it's not that I hide my face away from all of that and that I only hear compliments about me. I also hear the negative opinions.

You are absolutely delightful in Wonka, but before that, there were Interstella from Nolan, Lady Bird and Little Women from Greta Gerwig, The French Dispatch from Wes Anderson, and of course, Call Me By Your Name. We all remember that. A love story set in the Italy of 80s, between a young Italo-American man and an older American man, played by Armie Hammer. [video plays] We all remember that incredibly refreshing and sweet movie. Timothée, this movie granted you to become the youngest actor in the Best Actor category in 85 years! It changed everything for you.
Timothée: Everything. Without this movie, I couldn't have had this opportunity to play Wonka. Yeah, it changed everything for me. The director, Lucas, changed everything for me. I'll always be grateful and I'll always cherish a place in my heart for this movie. It was a really small project and we had no clue it would become like it is.
Interviewer: How old were you?
Timothée: I was 20, but it's weird to watch this scene back because I have the impression I'm getting old [laughters].
Interviewer: How old are you, Timothée?
Timothée: 27... [laughters]

Timothée: Yeah, I loved the last one! It's weird because I have watched the second movie before the first one. I'd say a lot of people: ???, ???, Heath Ledger, Louis de Funès.
Interviewer: You got an angel face, a ''baby face'', like it's said in English, but it's not for that reason that you are what we call a good boy. You have proved it recently in the SNL. [video plays]

Timothée: Yeah, this song has been written by Ron Michaels. Not only this song though, there was also a song wrote by him for Willy Wonka the movie. It was his idea to do that. The rap section was written by the one I was rapping with there.
Interviewer: Because you are this way in real life? You are not like the ''baby face'' we are trying to sell.
Timothée: Yeah, I'm quite this way in real life.
Interviewer: Rock?
Timothée: I'm sorry, what?
Interviewer: Rock?
Timothée: [he makes a banter with a French slang word that is the equal of "Yeah"]
[They all laugh and joke about some stuff that can't be quite well translated as there is the translator speaking over them as well]
Interviewer: Timothée!! [Timothée looks his way] Timothée, in the movie, we discover an all colorful Willy Wonka. A 2023 Willy Wonka version that you have adopted right until to the Red Caperts events, we can see that here [photos are shown] in Tokyo, London. And I'm going to say it all with kindness, but still going to say it: there is something upsetting about you. Everything fits you! [Timothée laughs] How do you do that??
Timothée: I'm never eating.
Interviewer: Hey, we are all eating here, but if we are trying to get the look, it'll still never fit us at all.
Timothée: Well, you gotta to try.
Interviewer: What I like about you is that you embody a kind of a modern masculinity... and that is probably our only common point: the sensitive masculinity. It serves you most of the time, but can also get you a lot of enemies.
Timothée: Well, yeah, but in fact, it's not that I hide my face away from all of that and that I only hear compliments about me. I also hear the negative opinions.
Interviewer: But [he is on the hypotetically tone], while you were wearing this outfit at the Mostra, you were thinking: I'm assuming it, it's like that and whatever what people will say.
Timothée: Well, for now yeah. I'm young, and I'm saying myself that for a Willy Wonka movie, it's tolerable since we are in 2023. [the outfits] It's related to the character. At Mostra, it was about a cannibal movie, and we could say it's also weird in a way, but we'll see in 10 years from now.
Interviewer: You have a double culture: Franco-American. Is it helpful with your job?
Timothée: Yeah, a lot, because my French side helps having another perspective about my life in Hollywood and my American life. And from another point of view, I feel like a French person when I'm in the USA and quite like an American person when I'm in France.

Timothée: I'd say Le Chambon-sur-Lignon. Not only because I'm currently in France, but because it's better for my heart.

Timothée: Oooh, Stéphane is with me tonight on the show. He's really one of my best friends and DiCaprio is someone I'm idolizing.

[the interviewer explains that there is a French debate about it bewteen the North and the South parts of the France. Depending on where you are living, the saying is different, but it is the same pastry we are talking about]
